BlackBerry Classic with 3.5-inch 294 PPI display launched for $449

BlackBerry just launched the BlackBerry Classic, their latest smartphone with a full QWERTY physical keyboard at an event in New York. It comes with a 3.5-inch (720 x 720 pixels) touch screen display at 294 PPI pixel density. This is the largest ever on a BlackBerry QWERTY smartphone, larger than the BlackBerry Q10 that was launched last year. It has a 35-key QWERTY physical backlit keyboard with wider layout and larger sculpted keys and navigation keys. It is powered by a 1.5 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor, packs a 2GB RAM, 16GB of inbuilt memory and supports microSD cards up to 128GB. Google Nexus 6 smartphone made by Motorola was officially launched in India last week, priced at  Rs. 43,999 for the 32GB variant and the 64GB variant is priced at Rs. 48,999. We brought you the unboxing and the photo gallery recently, here we have the benchmarks of the smartphone. It is powered by an Quad-Core Snapdragon 805 (APQ8084) 28nm HPm Krait 450 CPU clocked at 2.65 GHz with Adreno 420 GPU clocked at 600 MHz. It has 3GB RAM, a 5.96-inch (1440 x 2560 pixels) Quad HD display and runs on Android 5.0. We did not add Quadrant and Linpack benchmarks since the scores were very low compared to other Snapdragon 805-powered devices. Check out the synthetic benchmark scores below.

Canada loans Vodafone $850 million to boost BlackBerry sales

Canada is backing the continued growth and existence of BlackBerry with a large 5-year $850 million loan to British communications giant Vodafone Group. Under the terms of the agreement, Vodafone will use $750 million to purchase equipment and services produced by BlackBerry and the other $100 million with smaller Canadian companies.
