Google Glass with a Titanium thin Frame – Unboxing and Demo

Ever since we heard about Google Glass getting less geeky with new frames that could support prescription lenses, we wanted to try one. We promptly ordered one once Google started taking those elusive orders, and what we have here now with us, is a Titanium thin frame, in Charcoal colour that will stop making us look like Glassholes. Yes, it is just a frame with plain lenses that lets you attach your old Google Glass to it, but it suddenly makes it way less intimidating than before. Essentially, you will stop looking like a cyborg with an extra eye and the frame will now hide the glass apparatus somewhat, making it a better blend than before. Samsung Galaxy S5 Zoom rumors started earlier this month and an alleged image of the S5 zoom appeared earlier today. Sammobile has posted the complete specifications of the smartphone that reveals that the S5 Zoom would have a 20.2-megapixel BSI CMOS sensor, 4.4-44mm lens with 10x optical zoom, Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS) and Xenon Flash.

It is the world’s first mobile phone with perpetual power reserve, says the company. Samsung SM-G906S with 5.2-inch QHD (1440×2560 pixels) display, Snapdragon 805 spotted in Benchmarks

Samsung SM-G906S, an unknown devices with a 5.2-inch Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) display has appeared on GFXBench. Samsung SM-G900S with a similar Quad HD display appeared on GFXBench back in December 2013, but Samsung did not release the phone. The SM-G900S had a Snapdragon 800 processor, but the SM-G906S would have a 2.5 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor with Adreno 420 GPU. It runs on Android 4.4.2 (KitKat). Google adds new “People” section in Play Store, shows you what others are downloading

Google has just added another feature to its Play Store. This time, it doesn’t have anything to do with the apps or the way your apps update. But, it brings a little social interest to your Play Store. You now get a “People” tab in the side navigation bar and when you choose it, you get a list of what other people are downloading.

Sony Xperia E1 Dual Photo Gallery and Hardware Walkthrough

The Sony Xperia E1 Dual is the Japanese company’s improvisation of its long time low end play. The Xperia Tipo Dual and the earlier Xperia E used to occupy this segment, and keeping up with the times, the E1 dual will now occupy the place of a low end smartphone from Sony. Armed with a dedicated Walkman button and audio enhancements with XLoud and ClearPhase, the E1 dual aims to satisfy the young hip smartphone buyer who listens to a lot of music. Google makes In-App Content search global and introduces support for new apps

Google had earlier announced that it will soon be allowing users to search for content within applications. For example, if you search for a movie, then you will be prompted for a search result that will open inside the IMDB app if you have it installed. This feature was announced by Google sometime back and has been in use for a limited geographic area. Now, Google has expanded the availability of this in app search to global users.

Samsung Galaxy Ace Style with Android 4.4 showcased in Germany

Looks like Samsung would continue to bring new entry-level Android smartphones in the Galaxy Ace line-up. The Galaxy Ace 3 was unveiled back in June, but it didn’t launch in India. The company has showcased the Galaxy Ace Style running Android 4.4.2 (KitKat) at the Samsung Roadshow in Hamburg, Germany. The phone has a 4-inch (800 × 480 pixels) display and is powered by a 1.2 dual-core processor. It also has the new TouchWiz UI with rounded toggles, similar to the Galaxy S5. CyanogenMod, one of the popular custom ROM options for Android users, became so famous that the developers behind the ROM decided to start a company to support the rom and that was the birth of Cyanogen Inc. Microsoft Office for iPad hits 12 million downloads in just a week

Microsoft had released Microsoft Office applications – Word, Excel and PowerPoint on the Apple app store just ahead of their Build conference and now, within just a week after launch, according to Microsoft, there have been 12 million downloads of its apps. That shows the immense popularity for Microsoft apps. The apps are free to download, but they are free only for viewing the files. In order to be able to edit files on the iPad, you should have subscription for Microsoft Office which will cost you $99 per annum.

Vine introduces Direct messaging with updates to its iOS and Android apps

Vine, the popular video sharing service, has updated its service today, to include direct messaging. The updated service is now being rolled out to iOS and Android devices with an app update on their respective stores. Since launch, Vine has grown into a massive community of video makers, using it mainly for its performance art potential. In the mean time, the community itself started getting personal, with couples vining each other, and viners forming couples, so there obviously was a bit more space for personal communication for Vine as a service, as video messaging has been a long time riddle. We also think that Vine would be happy to know that the service has matured to become part of a particular set of people’s lives, an indication of growth and popularity.
