Samsung launched the Galaxy S6 edge+ smartphone in India last month for Rs. 57,900. We unboxed it recently, here we have the benchmarks of the smartphone. The Galaxy S6 edge+ is powered by a Octa-Core 14 nm Exynos 7420 SoC which has four ARM Cortex A57 CPUs clocked at 2.1GHz per core and four ARM Cortex A53 CPUs clocked at 1.5GHz per core, similar to the Galaxy S6 and theGalaxy S6 edge. Qualcomm just announced Quick Charge 3.0, the next-generation fast charging technology. It will be 4X faster than conventional charging, twice as fast as Quick Charge 1.0 and 38% more efficient than Quick Charge 2.0, said the company. It will help improve fast charging up to 27% or reduces power dissipation by up to 45% when compared to Quick Charge 2.0. It is also 100% backward-compatible with Quick Charge 1.0 and Quick Charge 2.0 devices and  supports a broad range of connectors. Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 to feature new X12 LTE modem supporting 600Mbps download speeds

Qualcomm has announced the upcoming X12 LTE modem that will be part of the new Snapdragon 820 processor. Devices based on the newly announced Snapdragon 820 processor are expected to be part of flagship smartphones shipping in first half of 2016. The company made this and a number of other important announcements at the ongoing Qualcomm 3G / LTE summit here in Hong Kong.
