YU just launched YUTOPIA (YU5050), the company’s flagship smartphone, as it promised. It has a 5.2-inch (1440 x 2560 pixels) Quad HD IPS display with 91% NTSC color gamut from Sharp, is powered by an Octa-Core 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor and runs on Cyanogen OS 12.1 based on Android 5.1.1 (Lollipop). It features a 21-megapixel auto focus rear camera with dual-tone LED Flash, Sony Exmor RS IMX230 sensor, Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), phase-detection auto-focus (PDAF) and a 8-megapixel front-facing camera. Yesterday YU announced that its YUTOPIA smartphone will launch at an event on December 7th. Today the company has announced that the flagship smartphone will now be launched on December 17th. YU’s Co-Founder and CEO, Rahul Sharma tweeted that YU plans to announce something special with YUTOPIA, but it is not clear if it will be a new accessory or another smartphone.
