Lenovo to phase out Motorola brand for smartphones

Lenovo which acquired Motorola in 2014 is planning to phase out the Motorola branding from smartphones. Motorola COO Rick Osterloh revealed to CNET that the smartphones will be called as Lenovo phones.

Facebook Messenger hits 800 million monthly active users

Facebook has revealed that its Messenger app now has more than 800 million monthly active users (MAU). The social network said that Messenger crossed this mark at the end of 2015. In comparison, WhatsApp Messenger has 900 million monthly active users.

Polaroid, popular for its camera products has introduced Snap and Power, two new Android smartphones at the CES 2016. Both these smartphones run on Android 5.1.1 (Lollipop), which is upgradable to Android 6.0 (Marshmallow), 13-megapixel rear camera and have 4G LTE support. The Polaroid Snap comes in 5-inch, 5.5-inch and 6-inch HD screens and the Polaroid Power comes with a 6-inch 1080p display. These are designed and manufactured by Southern Telecom, an authorized Polaroid licensee.

Intel has introduced two new Compute Stick models with Core M and Intel Atom x5 processors at the CES this year. The core m5 and core m3 versions have 4K support, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, while the Intel Atom version has 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. QiKU Q Terra Camera Review: A new take on Smartphone Imaging

QiKu Q-Terra -6Work long enough in the industry and you learn to take every new technical jargon with a heaping spoon full of salt. So when QiKu, the scrappy new upstart, briefed us about its new duoscopic camera, we were quick to believe this similar to other manufacturer’s offering and perhaps even a gimmick. Spending some more time with the device though, we noticed that this was quite not the case. While we explored the camera briefly in our review, we really wanted to stress the dual camera feature on the phone to see if it actually delivers on its promise. So what did we do? We put the camera through a test, a 3000km+ journey across India to test and see if the QiKu Q Terra’s camera can perform uniformly well across large and varied landscapes, lighting conditions. OnePlus introduced the OnePlus X in Onyx glass back and limited edition Ceramic variants back in October. The OnePlus X Onyx edition priced at Rs. 16,999 went on sale in India and several countries with an invite back in November. At the launch the company said that it will make only 10,000 units of the OnePlus X Ceramic version smartphone, now it has announced that the Limited Ceramic Edition OnePlus X will be available from French Connection (FCUK) stores in Delhi, Mumbai and Hyderabad invite-free tomorrow.
