One Week On, Apple Music Skips A Beat
The writing is on the wall. Music streaming is the future. Earlier this year, streaming music revenues didn’t just reach parity but overtook physical sales of CDs. In a market where even retro formats like vinyl are making a resurgence and are now being charted due to rising popularity, CD sales revenues fell 12.7% and digital downloads too showed signs of slowdowns while streaming revenues jumped up 29%. The streaming business has simply become too lucrative for anyone to ignore if they’re even vaguely involved with the music industry. With Apple Music, Cupertino enters the fray and is no doubt about to give stiff competition in a bid to wrestle away a significant share of the pie. Microsoft culls 7,800 employees amidst restructuring of Lumia business
Microsoft today announced that 7,800 people from its phone division will be getting the pink slip. This follows the 18,000 layoffs over the past year that affected the workforce adopted via Nokia. While shocking for sure, it isn’t particularly surprising given the departure of Stephen Elop, Jo Harlow that signaled the diminishing importance of Windows Phone within the company. It has a 7-inch (1024×600) TFT display, is powered by a 1.3 GHz quad-core processor and runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat) with Samsung’s own TouchWiz UI on top. Delhi high court lifts ban on Uber
Uber can finally catch some respite as the Delhi court has lifted ban on the taxi hailing company. The court has given Uber 10 days to set out the requirements to be granted a licence to operate in the city.

A week with the “beautiful” Meizu MX5
Meizu, creators of the popular MX series of devices in China, unveiled their latest premium flagship device a week back in China. At the tightly well-presented event, equipped with high resolution projectors, we were shown beautiful images of the MX5. Usually, the real deal is underwhelming compared to its more-than-perfect renders, but this time it was different. The Meizu MX5 was as beautiful as its renders, and consistently stands out from other slabs with its beautifully crafted design which is familiar, yet unique in execution. After a week with the MX5, here are our initial impressions of this beautiful device.

Lenovo sold 47,440 units of K3 Note smartphones in just 5.2 seconds in the first flash sale today on Flipkart at 3PM. It received over 538,096 lakh registrations for the sale, said the company.
