Opera has updated its Opera Mini app for Android to version 14 that brings better language support, with 90 languages to choose from. This includes 13 Indian languages – Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Kashmiri, Malayalam, Marathi, Oriya, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu. LG Electronics has reported revenues of 14.56 trillion won (US$ 12.57 billion) in Q4 2015, a 3.8% increase compared to the same quarter last year with operating profit of 349 billion won (US$ 301.38 million), up 27% from the same period the previous year. For the whole 2015 operating income was 1.19 trillion won (US$ 1.03 billion), compared to 1.83 trillion (US$ 1.58 billion) in 2014 on revenues of 56.51 trillion won (US$ 48.8 billion), compared with 59.04 trillion won (US$ 50.98 billion) the previous year, mainly due to sluggish global market demand for TVs and softer growth of smartphone market. OnePlus has finally started rolling out Oxygen OS v2.2.0 OTA update for the OnePlus X smartphone, couple of months after it rolled out the OxygenOS 2.1.3 update. This update fixes USSD issues for India finally, so that pre-paid users will now receive USSD notification after a call, SMS and for data usage. The update also adds manual mode that is already present in the OnePlus 2, option to save images in SD card directly in camera, security patches, bug fixes and optimizations. iBall has launched the Slide 3G Q45i, the company’s latest Android tablet in the Slide series. It has a 7-inch (1024×600 pixels) IPS screen, is powered by a quad-core 64-bit Intel Atom x3 processor and runs on Android 5.1 (Lollipop). It has a 2-megapixel rear camera and a VGA front-facing camera. It has dual-SIM support, 3G connectivity and voice calling capabilities.

Vodafone has launched its 4G LTE services in Kolkata after a month of launching its 4G services in Kerala. It was launched in Mysore earlier this month. It is based on 1800MHz FDD-LTE band 3 and is built on a strong fibre backhaul. Vodafone 4G is available in BBD Bag, Park Street, Alipore, Ballygunge, Salt Lake Sector 5, Airport and EM bypass in the circle and the roll-out will be completed across all parts of Kolkata by June 2016 in a phased manner.
