Asus ZenBook 3 with 11.9mm slim aluminum body, USB Type C announced, starts at $999

Asus has officially announced the next-generation ZenBook 3 notebook at the ongoing Computex 2016 in Taiwan. The ZenBook 3 now features a revamped ultra-slim design with 11.9mm chassis and is made from aerospace-grade aluminum alloy 50% stronger than the standard alloy used in laptops.

It sports 12.5-inch display and has a wide 72% NTSC color gamut with scratch-resistant Corning Gorilla Glass 4 on top. It features slim bezel design that provides an 82% screen-to-body ratio for the maximum display size. Weighing 910g, the ZenBook is made with special 2-phase anodizing process that helps in creating the golden highlights on the diamond-cut edges.

The ZenBook 3 is powered by an Intel Core i7 processor, 16GB of 2133MHz RAM, up to a 1TB PCIe Gen 3 x4 SSD. It supports USB Type-C port and comes with quad-speaker audio by Harman Kardon. It features a thin fan design at just 3 mm for cooling system. ZenBook 3 features a full-size backlit keyboard with 19.8mm key pitch which is similar to most desktop keyboards and 0.8mm key travel to deliver comfortable typing experience.

In addition, it comes with a glass-covered precision touchpad for smooth input that incorporates palm-rejection technology. It even supports Smart Gestures and handwriting support for enhanced usability. The ZenBook 3 comes with a built-in fingerprint reader with Windows Hello support that offers one-touch access, allowing them to sign in and unlock without having to type their password or PIN. Asus claims upto 9 hours of battery life for the ZenBook 3 and it comes with fast-charge technology that brings ZenBook 3’s battery up to 60% capacity in just 49 minutes.

The Asus ZenBook 3 starts at $999 and comes in Royal Blue, Rose Gold and Quartz Grey color variants.
