LeEco (formerly known as Letv) today announced that it sold 70,000 Le 1s smartphones in just 2 seconds in the first flash sale at 12 noon on Flipkart. The company said that this is a new record in India. Yesterday Flipkart announced that it received over 5,30,000 lakh registrations for the smartphone within 10 days after registration opened. Honor, Huawei’s Smartphone e-brand today announced that it has started selling it’s latest Honor 5X smartphone in India. “Since the start of sales on Flipkart and Amazon, at 12 a.m. on February 1, Honor 5X smartphone has witnessed strong demand, like its predecessor the Honor 4X. Honor 4X units were sold out within a minute of the flash sale, and the model sold over 10 million units globally,” said the company. Worldwide tablet market declined yet again in the fourth quarter of 2015 with 65.9 million units shipped, down 13.7% year over year, according to latest report from the International Data Corporation (IDC).This is the fifth straight quarter where tablets have reported a decrease year over year. In Q3, 2015 tablet shipment had declined by 12.6%

Jet Airways has announced that it will soon introduce a WiFi based in-flight streaming service for passengers. The domestic carrier will bring streaming of movies, TV programmes, a wide genre of music, interactive games, and children’s programmes directly to wi-fi enabled personal devices such as smartphones, tablets and personal laptops of the passengers.

Truecaller is the popular phone directory app that allows users to identify unknown numbers, block unwanted calls, and search contact information among people and businesses. The company announced in October last year that it has crossed 100 million users in India. Truecaller has been focusing on tier II and III markets in India.
