Broadcom introduces Wi-Fi/Bluetooth combo chip for mobile platforms, NFC controller for mobile payments

Broadcom Corporation today announced BCM43012, its latest and lowest power Wi-Fi/Bluetooth combo chip for mobile platforms and accessories at the CES 2016. It also announced BCM20797,  its highest performing Near Field Communications (NFC) controller. The company’s latest Wi-Fi/Bluetooth combo chip promises 3X longer battery life compared to Broadcom’s previous combo chips. “In some applications, the BCM43012 Wi-Fi consumes 80 percent less power than the most common Bluetooth solutions today,” said the company. HP announces new slimmer and lighter EliteBook Folio notebook

HP has announced a new slimmer and lighter EliteBook Folio notebook ahead of CES 2016. The company says that this is the thinnest and lightest notebook which is 21 percent slimmer and up to 15 percent lighter than the HP EliteBook 1020.

Asus today launched the ZenWatch 2, its latest Android Wear smartwatch in India. It was announced at the Computex 2015 in June last year and went on sale in the U.S. through Google Store in October 2015. The ZenWatch 2 comes in two models, WI501Q with a 1.63″ (320×320 pixels) 278ppi AMOLED display and WI502Q with a 1.45″ (280×280 pixels) 273ppi AMOLED display. Windows 10 now running on more than 200 million devices

Microsoft launched the Windows 10 on June 29th in 190 countries worldwide. Today the company’s Corporate Vice President of Marketing for Windows and Devices, Yusuf Mehdi said that Windows 10 is now running on more than 200 million active devices worldwide after 6 months of its launch. In 24 hours after the roll out it was running on more than 14 million devices, after four weeks of the launch it was running on more than 75 million devices.
