After the launch of ZUK Z2 Pro, Lenovo’s ZUK is all set to introduce the ZUK Z2, a smaller and affordable version of the phone at an event in China on May 31st. ZUK CEO Chang Cheng already shared an image of the smartphone and also confirmed that it will be powered by Samsung Exynos 8 Octa 8890 14nm 64-bit processor that powers the Galaxy S7 series. Samsung launched the J7 (2016) smartphone in India at Rs. 15,990. We already brought you the unboxing of the smartphone, here we have its benchmarks. It is powered by an Octa-Core Exynos 7870 14nm 64-bit processor that has eight ARM Cortex A53 cores clocked at 1.59GHz per core. It has Mali-830 GPU, 2GB of RAM, 5.5-inch 720p AMOLED screen and runs on Android 6.0 (Marshmallow). Check out the synthetic benchmark scores below.

Google’s Advanced Technology and Projects (ATAP) division announced Project Soli, a radar-based gesture control technology at the I/O developer conference last year. Last year’s development kit was huge to use it in smaller devices such as smartwatches. So Google’s ATAP team with Infineon redesigned the chip to make it 3 times smaller and also reduce power consumption by 22 times, down from 1.2W to 0.054W. The footprint is now also 3x smaller.

Google’s Advanced Technology and Projects division (ATAP) announced at the Google I/O that it will release the developer version of the Project Ara modular smartphone in the fall of 2016. This will replace the Spiral 2 dev kit that was showcased last year. The consumer version of the Project Ara is further delayed and will only be available in 2017.
