Twitter has revealed financial earnings for Q2 2017. The micro-blogging site recorded $574 million in revenue, down 5% YoY. Twitter’s monthly active user base remained unchanged at 328 million in Q2 2017. This means, Twitter reported 0% user growth this quarter.

Airtel and Idea to roll out VoLTE services across India by early 2018

Last year there was a report that said Airtel, Vodafone and Idea Cellular were gearing up to launch VoLTE (Voice Over LTE) services to take on Reliance Jio who launched pan-India 4G LTE services with VoLTE (Voice Over LTE) back in September last year. Now Airtel has announced that it will launch VoLTE services in the country by end of current financial year, which is by March 2018. Xiaomi secures $1 billion loan for global retail expansion

Xiaomi has secured a whopping $1 billion loan to expand globally and increase its retail footprint. The Chinese smartphone maker has revealed that it has secured a three-year syndicated loan agreement from 18 banks across Europe, Middle East, India, China, Hong Kong and Taiwan. Deutsche Bank and Morgan Stanley served as joint global coordinator, with Bank of China (Hong Kong) Limited, Deutsche Bank AG, and Wing Lung Bank.

This shows the flat screen phone with the same 5.8-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED display, Snapdragon 835, 4GB RAM, 12MP Dual Pixel rear camera and a 8MP front camera as the Galaxy S8. Apple iPhone 8 might not ship until late 2017, Face ID 3D facial recognition details surface

Earlier this month, a report said that the iPhone 8 will come in four colors, one of which will feature a mirror-like finish. Now a new report from Japan’s Macotakara says that it will come in different colors, but it will not come in White.  It also says that it will not ship until Q4 2017, which is between October to December. Samsung unveiled its W2017 premium flip phone with dual displays last year. Now details about the upcoming W2018 (SM-W2018) flip phone has surfaced. The W2017 was powered by Snapdragon 820, had 4GB RAM and 64GB storage, the W2018 is said to be powered by Snapdragon 835, come with 6GB RAM and the internal storage is said to be 64GB, same as the predecessor. India’s LTE handsets base crosses 150 Million units in Q2, Xiaomi tops in under Rs.10000 category

India’s LTE installed base of handsets crossed 150 million units and is only behind China and USA now and is estimated to surpass the USA in next one year, according to a latest report from Counterpoint’s Market Monitor service. Xiaomi toppled Samsung in the best-seller slot for smartphone models in the under Rs 10,000 segment in the second quarter of 2017.

India’s smartphone shipments fall for the first time in Q2 ; Xiaomi, OPPO maintain growth: Canalys

When Xiaomi announced the Mi Max last year, nobody expected it to be particularly popular. The gigantic size was expected to be a deterrent but as it turns out, the phablet saw massive uptake amongst users. Serving as a good mid way ground between carrying smartphones and a tablet, the Mi Max delivered battery life, a large screen and a generally great experience in a well priced package. One year on, Xiaomi is back with the Mi Max 2. With a bigger battery in roughly the same sized package, the Mi Max 2 is already looking quite exciting but is it worth an upgrade? Axis Bank acquires mobile payment firm FreeCharge for Rs. 385 crore
