Netflix rolls out HDR support for Samsung Galaxy Note8, Sony Xperia XZ1

It looks like Netflix’s list of HDR-compatible devices is growing rapidly. The popular US based streaming service has added HDR support to Samsung Galaxy Note8 and Sony Xperia XZ1. Other flagships that come with HDR streaming support include the LG G6, LG V30 and Sony Xperia XZ Premium.

Gionee M7 with full-screen display to be announced soon, 6-inch FHD+ screen, 6GB RAM expected

Alcatel has announced A7, A7 Plus in the ‘A series’ and Idol 5 smartphone in the ‘Idol series’ at the IFA 2017. The A7 XL has 12-megapixel rear camera with secondary 2-megapixel camera to capture depth information and has a 6-inch 1080p screen. Both the A7 and and A7 XL have a 4000mAh battery with support for fast charging. The Idol 5 is a cheaper version of the Idol 5S that was introduced in the U.S. back in June. ACT Fibernet launches 150Mbps plans in Bengaluru, upgrades existing plans at no extra cost

ACT (Atria Convergence Technologies Pvt. Ltd.) has upgraded its plans for Bengaluru again, after an upgrade earlier this year. It recently launched 150 Mbps plans first time in the city, and all the existing 100Mbps plans have been upgraded to 150Mbps plans. Other plans have also been upgraded in both speed and FUP at no additional cost. Speed after FUP in these plans remain the same.

ZOPO at the IFA 2017 last week announced P5000 and Z5000, two new mid-range smartphones. Both these have a 13-megapixel rear camera with Sony IMX258 sensor along with a secondary 5-megapixel camera to capture depth information and a 16-megapixel front-facing camera with soft LED flash. These are powered by an Octa-Core MediaTek Helio P10 SoCs, have 4GB of RAM, run Android 7.0 (Nougat), feature unibody metal design and pack a 5000mAh battery with support for 15W fast charging. It has a 5.5-inch 1080p Super AMOLED 2.5D curved glass display, is powered by a 2.39GHz Octa-Core processor, which will likely be MediaTek Helio P20 and runs on Android 7.1 (Nougat). It has a 13-megapixel rear camera with f/1.7 aperture along with a 5-megapixel secondary camera with f/1.9 aperture to capture depth information.
