Samsung Electronics has announced that the company would soon start taking steps to replace plastic packaging materials with paper and other environmentally sustainable elements. From the first half of 2019, the packaging used currently for Samsung’s products and accessories – ranging from mobile phones and tablets to home appliances – will be substituted with environmentally sustainable materials like recycled/bio-based plastics and paper. Facebook plans to integrate Messenger, Instagram and WhatsApp messaging

Facebook will integrate its messaging services — WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook Messenger by the end of this year or by early 2020, according to the latest report by The New York Times. These service will have their underlying messaging infrastructure unified but will continue to operate as stand-alone apps after the integration, according to the report.

Motorola Moto G7, G7 Plus, G7 Play and G7 Power detailed specifications surface ahead of Feb 7 announcement

Motorola recently scheduled an event in Brazil on February 7th to introduce Moto G7 series smartphones — G7, G7 Plus, G7 Play and G7 Power. Now Motorola has accidentally revealed the specifications of all the G7 series smartphone its Brazil website. This shows that the G7 Plus will actually be powered by Snapdragon 636 SoC, even though earlier rumors said that it will be powered by Snapdragon 660. Other devices are powered by Snapdragon 632 SoC, as rumored earlier.

XOLO Era 4X 2GB Unboxing and First Impressions

XOLO made a comeback recently to announce two new devices in New Delhi, targeting the budget segment of the smartphone market. The XOLO Era 4X which has an HD+ display and a front facing flash, along with some AI bokeh features, starts at Rs. 4,444 for the 1 GB RAM variant while the 2 GB RAM variant comes with an additional Face unlock feature. I had went hands on with it at the event and now the 2 GB RAM variant has arrived for testing and here are my first impressions.

Microsoft Office 365 now available via the Apple Mac App Store

This update brings quite a few changes and feature, it also includes a new setup screen that’s used when configuring AirPods and this is currently hidden. Facebook is shutting down Moments app on February 25th

Facebook has confirmed that it is shutting down Moments; its standalone private photo sharing app. The app’s services will be discontinued on Feb. 25th. Samsung Galaxy A9 Pro (2019) with 6.4-inch FHD+ Infinity-O display, 6GB RAM, triple rear cameras announced

Samsung has announced new Galaxy A9 Pro  (SM-G887N) in Korea, which a version of the Galaxy A8s (SM-G8870) that was introduced in China last month. As we already know, the phone packs a 6.4-inch Full HD+ Infinity-O display, is powered by Snapdragon 710 with 6GB of RAM, comes with triple rear cameras that includes main 24-megapixel sensor with f/1.7 aperture, 10-megapixel Telephoto lens with f/2.4 aperture for 2x optical zoom, and a 5-megapixel camera to capture depth information for portrait shots and a 24-megapixel front camera.

Get Android 9.0 Pie on Redmi Note 5 Pro with OxygenOS 9.0 port

Xiaomi’s MIUI is amongst the most popular Android skins with more than 300 million worldwide users. MIUI is a heavy skin on top of Android skin that offers various customizations but brings a good amount of bloat as well. Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 5 Pro was amongst the best selling devices launched in 2018 but it runs on Android 8.1 (Oreo) based MIUI 10 as of now. As per an official announcement, Redmi Note 5 Pro is expected to get Android 9.0 (Pie) in Q1 2019 but the public beta testing for the MIUI Global ROM hasn’t started yet.

Nokia 2 users will get Android Oreo update option soon, but there’s a catch

Several users started asking the reason why the phone is yet to get stable Android 8.1 (Oreo) update since it got beta update way back in June last year.
