Nokia re-enters USA with Lumia 710 for T-Mobile

Nokia is making a re-entry into the American market with the Lumia 710 for T-Mobile. Nokia and T-Mobile announced plans to launch it’s first Windows Phone in USA on Jan 11 2012.The Lumia 710 started shipping in several countries last week and now there good news for Nokia fans in USA. The T-Mobile version supports the operator’s 4G network and bear the operator branding below the windows keys.The best part of announcement is the pricing.

Logitech Revue Google TV 3.1 Honeycomb update rolling out now , brings Android Market

Yes that’s Android market running on the TV. The big Google TV Android 3.1 update is finally rolling out to Logitech Revue units via an OTA update. The Revue retails for $99 and there was some confusion if Google and Logitech will release an update for this device. Now the update is finally rolling out including the Revue unit in the FoneArena Labs. Vodafone launches SMART Android Phone at Rs.4995 !

Vodafone Smart which has been available in India for quite some time now got officially unveiled by Vodafone in India today. Guess the price  ? It is priced at just Rs.4995 or under $100 for a 3G Android Phone, not bad at all. It sports a 2.8 inch capacitive display and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon S1 processor.It packs a 2 megapixel camera which is capable of video recording. The phone supports video playback( MP4/3GP ) and supports microSD cards up to 32GB and a 2GB card comes in the box. It also support Stereo FM Radio and MP3 playback. Panasonic to launch ultra-slim, waterproof and dustproof Android phone with 4.3 inch OLED display in March 2012

Panasonic has grand plans with it’s smartphone which is expected to hit Europe by March 2012. The company has released few details along with some pictures of the Panasonic prototype Android phone. The device uses a 4.3 inch qHD OLED display with a really slim bezel.The design will be  ultra-slim and sport a D-shape.The front shows off the Panasonic branding along with the Menu , home and Back keys. Since waterproof phones are pretty common in Japan , Panasonic is bringing its expertise to the table and claims that it’s first smartphone will be waterproof and dustproof. BlackBerry 10 announced at DevCon Asia in Singapore

Today at BlackBerry DevCon Asia in Singapore , RIM announced it’s next major platform version- BlackBerry 10 . RIM is calling it the single , converged , next-generation BlackBerry platform. We guess its just BBX in it’s consumer / marketing form. BlackBerry 10 will be the next major BlackBerry OS update after BlackBerry 7. RIM had literally flooded the market with an army of BlackBerry 7 devices and next year we can expect BlackBerry 10 devices. More on this soon. The real reason behind the change from BBX to BlackBerry is due to a ruling by a US  District Judge which prevents RIM from using the BBX brand at the conference. BlackBerry DevCon Asia Live Blog

RIM is holding its BlackBerry DevCon Asia event here in Singapore.The event was shifted from Thailand due to the recent floods in that region. The company held it’s previous DevCon in  San Francicso where BBX was announced.  We expect to hear more about BBX and hope to see a few new un-announced devices. We are also going to try to sit down with some RIM executives and get an idea of the mood within the company.The keynote is about to start in a few minutes and you can follow the updates from the event below

Nokia Lumia 800 Pre-Orders start in India

Nokia Stores across India have started to take Pre-orders for the first Windows Phone device from Nokia , the Lumia 800. Most Nokia Priority Stores across the country have the device on display as well. In case you wanted to check out the 1st Windows phone from Nokia , you can walk in and get your hands on the device. In order to reserve your unit ,  you must pay a small advance in the range of Rs.1000-2000 and the device will be made available in the next 10 days according the the store. The final retail price of the Lumia 800 is not yet fixed due to the fluctuating dollar we assume, but the person in a store hinted at a final retail price of  Rs.30000-33000. Nokia X2-02 Dual SIM Phone – Photo Gallery

Finally Nokia is taking the Dual SIM market seriously in India as the company launched yet another Dual SIM phone , the X2-02 last week at it’s Annual Strategy Sharing Summit in Udaipur. The X2-02 reminds us of the X1-01 but the big difference is the presence of a hot-swappable SIM card slot on the  outside. There is a Easy Swap feature which lets to store settings of up to 5 SIM cards. The phone also has a hot-swappable microSD card slot with support for 32GB cards.One of the killer features is the built-in FM Transmitter which Nokia calls as Play via Radio.You can have your own radio station in your car. LG Nitro HD with 720p HD Display and 4G LTE gets Priced at $249.99 for AT&T USA

LG announced the Optimus LTE in Korea last month  which boasts of a 720p HD IPS Display and at that point LG did not plan to release the device in other markets. Looks like that has changed as LG launched the Optimus LTE in Canada earlier this month and now AT&T has announced that it is going to launch the the LG Nitro HD which seems like the carrier’s variant of the Optimus LTE. The device packs a True HD AH-IPS (High Definition Advanced High Performance In-Plane Switching) 4.5 inch display with  329 pixels per inch. More details about the display technology here . Samsung Galaxy Nexus Unboxing Video

The Galaxy Nexus is world’s first phone to run on Android 4.0 which is also known as Ice Cream Sandwich. Google and Samsung unveiled the device in Hong Kong last month and the device went on sale in few markets earlier this month. The handset is priced at around 429 pounds in the UK.The box is unusually long and has the picture of the device  on the front and sides.A very simplistic design with subtle marketing material. No mention even of the specs on the outside.The unit we got was a Titanium Silver color. The device boasts of a 4.65 inch SuperAMOLED display with a 720p resolution.It is powered by a 1.2 GHz CPU and packs 16GB of inbuilt storage without an expansion slot. There is a 5MP camera on the back and a 1.3 MP front facing camera. Nokia Lumia 800 SIM-Free stocks arriving on December 1 in UK

The first Nokia Windows Phone went on sale in the UK few days back in the UK and few other countries . (Read  our Nokia Lumia 800 Review). But looked like it was available in limited stores and more easily on a contract. Now online retailer has announced that SIM-Free / Unlocked units of the Lumia 800 will arrive on December 1st in the UK compared to the January 2012 timeframe announced previously.

New PRADA Phone by LG coming in 2012

Luxury goods maker PRADA has extended it’s partnership with handset maker LG for its next version of it’s luxury phone which is expected to arrive in 2012. The two companies have been working together since 2006 and the partnership saw 2 new luxury handsets being launched under the PRADA brand. The PRADA by LG 1.0 sold over 1 million units and I’m sure the duo are looking forward to repeat history.Pic from the “signing ceremony below”. Seems like brand logos and representatives got swapped or is that the norm ?

HTC Flyer 32GB , 3G version Price Drops to Rs.23900 !

When HTC launched the 3G+WiFi of it’s 7 inch Android tablet in India for Rs.39890 in June this year , we were immensely disappointed about the price tag. It was an impressive tablet with decent battery life. Now if you gave the Flyer a pass for the same reason, good news for you. The price of the tablet has been cut by almost 50%. It has now available for Rs.23900 on Flipkart and Rs.23990 on LeysBuy. Some retailers are still selling it at around Rs.35000. Motorola RAZR is the first Android Phone to use a microSIM card

When I was expecting the Motorola RAZR to arrive today , I had a question in my mind. Does this phone use a microSIM card. The Motorola DROID RAZR for Verizon uses the smaller SIM card but there was no mention about it in the Europe / Asia product pages. To my surprise when I opened the box earlier today, I noticed that the RAZR had a flap which covered the microSIM card slot and the microSD memory card slot.
