Aadhaar mandatory for mobile connections, re-verification process to be completed within a year

After making Aadhaar compulsory for filing income tax returns and applying for PAN, the government has announced that Aadhaar mandatory for mobile phone connections, following an order of the Supreme Court last month. The Department of Telecom has announced that all telecom operators will have re-verify all existing mobile subscribers (prepaid and postpaid) through Aadhaar based E-KYC process within a year.

Opera has updated its Opera Mini for Android that brings several new features. When users visit social media, MP3, or movie download sites, Opera Mini will automatically scan it for the direct download links under the Extreme Mode. The downloadable content will appear like a delicious buffet menu ready for their selection. This auto scan feature is now available on Facebook, Pagalworld, Tubidy, DJPunjab and a few others. The list will continue growing, says Opera.

Gionee introduced A1 selfie-focused smartphone in India earlier this week, but it didn’t reveal the price. As promised, the company has announced that the smartphone will be available in India for Rs. 19,999.  The main highlight of the smartphone is its 16-megapixel front camera with f/2.0 aperture, 1/3.06″ sensor, selfie flash and face beauty features. It packs a 5.5-inch 1080p 2.5D curved glass display, is powered by an Octa-Core MediaTek Helio P10 processor and has 4GB of RAM.

Xiaomi Mi 6 render shows dual rear camera setup, pricing surfaces ahead of April announcement

Xiaomi recently teased Snapdragon 835 so there are chances it could come with the processor. Some rumors say that only the Mi 6 Plus will pack dual rear cameras.

HMD Global introduced its latest Android smartphone – Nokia 3 and Nokia 5, introduced Nokia 6 for global markets and also introduced a redesigned Nokia 3310 at the MWC 2017 last month. When a Twitter user asked if the Nokia Android phones will be available in the US, it said that it is planning to release the phones globally at the same time. LG has launched Stylus 3, the company’s latest smartphone with a stylus pen in India. It was introduced ahead of CES 2017 and packs a 5.7-inch HD 2.5D curved glass display and has a 1.8mm diameter fiber-tip stylus that promises feel and feedback of an actual pen when writing on the screen. It also has a fingerprint scanner and enhanced UX with Pen Pop 2.0 as well as the popular Pen Keeper and Screen-off Memo.
