HMD Global launched the Nokia 6 smartphone in India back in June, which went on sale in August for Rs. 14999. We already brought you the review of the phone, here we have the battery life test results of the phone. It packs a 3000mAh built-in battery, but lacks support for fast charging. It has a 5.5-inch 1080p display, is powered by Snapdragon 430 Mobile Platform, has 3GB of RAM and runs on Android 7.1.1 (Nougat). Check out the test results. Huawei P10 and Mate 9 series will get EMUI 8.0 Android 8.0 Oreo update

Huawei introduced Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro smartphones running Android 8.0 (Oreo) with new EMUI 8.0. at an event in Germany yesterday. Dr. Chenglu Wang, President of Software Engineering, Huawei at a separate briefing in China confirmed that the P10 and Mate 9 series that includes Huawei P10, P10 Plus, Mate 9 and Mate 9 Pro will get the EMUI 8.0-based Android Oreo update.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 Mobile Platform

Qualcomm at the 2017 4G/5G Summit announced Snapdragon 636, an upgraded version of Snapdragon 630 that was introduced earlier this year. It is developed using the same 14nm FinFet process technology, but this uses eight Kryo 260 CPUs instead of A53 CPUs in the Snapdragon 630 that promises 40% increase in performance. It also has support for ultra-wide FHD+ displays and Assertive Display, which optimizes the visibility of the display in all lighting conditions. It has similar specs as the Mate 10 Pro, including a 6-inch FHD+ FullView OLED 18:9 display with ultra narrow bezels, powered by an Octa-Core HiSilicon Kirin 970 10nm SoC with i7 co-processor, dedicated neural network processing unit and runs on Android 8.0 (Oreo) with Emotion UI 8.0 on top and Leica dual-lens camera with 12-megapixel RGB sensor, 20-megapixel monochrome sensor, but this comes with a premium design and body. Xiaomi just announced Redmi 5A, its latest budget 4G smartphone in the Redmi series and the successor of last year’s Redmi 4A in China without much changes. It has a 5-inch HD display, is powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 425 processor and runs on MIUI 9 based on Android 7.1 (Nougat). Samsung has slashed the price of three of its smartphones in India. The Galaxy S8+ that was launched back in April for Rs. 64900 has received a Rs. 6000 price cut and is available for Rs. 58,900. Xiaomi opens its first Mi Home Store in Mumbai

After Bengaluru, Delhi-NCR, Chennai and Hyderabad, Xiaomi has opened its first Mi Home Store in Mumbai, which is located at Phoenix Market City Mall. The store was inaugurated by founders of Poorvika Mobile. This is the Eighth Mi Home Store in the country after after three Stores in Bengaluru, one in Gurugram, Noida, Chennai and Hyderabad. As it had promised back in May, it now has stores in major Indian cities.

Samsung has launched the Galaxy J2 2017, the company’s latest entry-level 4G VoLTE smartphone in India. It has similar specifications as the Galaxy J2 that was launched back in 2015, including a 4.7-inch qHD screen, 1.3GHz Exynos processor, 5-megapixel rear camera and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera, but the Android version is not known yet. Lenovo-owned Moto launched the Moto G5S smartphone, successor of the Moto G5 in Lunar Gray and Fine Gold colors in India back in August on Amazon.in. Today it has launched the Midnight Blue color variant of the smartphone in the country. Other specifications of the phone are same, including a 5.2-inch 1080p screen , Snapdragon 430 SoC, 16MP rear camera, metal unibody design, fingerprint sensor and a 3000mAh battery with support for Turbo charging.

Pixel, Pixel XL users get lifetime ‘Original Quality’ unlimited photo and video uploads confirms Google

Google has officially mentioned that the original Quality unlimited photo uploads from the latest Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL will have an expiration date of 2020, after which the picture upload will be allowed in slightly lower ‘high-quality’ resolution instead of Original. Post this announcement; there has been slight confusion about the position of last year’s Pixel as they never had any such limit.
