OnePlus Nord 6 to launch in India on April 7th

After teasers, OnePlus has officially confirmed the upcoming launch of the OnePlus Nord 6 in the Indian market. Slated for a full specification reveal on April 7 at 7:00 PM IST, the new device is positioned within the INR 35,000 to 40,000 price segment. The smartphone focuses heavily on processing power, high-framerate gaming, and extended battery capacity.

Performance

The OnePlus Nord 6 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 platform. Built on a 4nm manufacturing process, the chipset utilizes a 1+3+4 core architecture, featuring a primary Cortex-X5 core clocked at up to 3.2GHz, alongside an Adreno 835 GPU.

According to manufacturer-provided AnTuTu benchmark data under specific test conditions, the Nord 6 achieved a score of 2,503,854. OnePlus states this represents a notable performance increase over competitors in the same tier, specifically citing higher CPU, GPU, and AI benchmark results compared to the Motorola Edge 60 Pro.

Display and Gaming Capabilities

OnePlus is marketing the Nord 6 as the first device in its category to support sustained 165 FPS gameplay for specific mobile titles, including BGMI, Call of Duty Mobile, and Free Fire MAX.

The display and touch interfaces include several specialized hardware integrations:

  • Screen Specs: A 165Hz 1.5K AMOLED display with 1800 nits High Brightness Mode (HBM) and a peak HDR brightness of 3600 nits.
  • Eye Comfort: Supports a minimum brightness of 2 nits and 3840 Hz PWM dimming for low-light usage.
  • Touch and Sensors: A dedicated Touch Reflex Chip enabling a 3200Hz instant touch sampling rate, and a 6-axis gaming gyroscope with ±4000dps sensitivity.
  • Audio and Environment: Includes a built-in Spatial Audio Booster for enhanced directional sound, and “Aqua Touch 2.0” to maintain screen responsiveness when the display or the user’s fingers are wet.
Battery and Charging

A key feature of the Nord 6 is its 9000 mAh battery, which uses silicon-carbon technology (incorporating 15% silicon content) to maximize capacity without excessively increasing the phone’s thickness.

  • Battery Life: OnePlus claims a single charge can provide up to 2.5 days of moderate use, roughly 26.9 hours of YouTube streaming, or 6.3 hours of 4K video recording at 60 fps.
  • Charging Speeds: The device supports 80W SUPERVOOC wired charging, which is stated to charge the battery from 0 to 100% in approximately 70 minutes.
  • Power Management: It features “Bypass Charging,” which routes power directly to the device rather than the battery during intensive tasks like gaming to minimize heat generation. It also supports 27W wired reverse charging.
Connectivity and Availability

The device is equipped with a dedicated G2 Wi-Fi chip and supports 5G Advanced networks to improve signal stability and peak data speeds.

At launch, the OnePlus Nord 6 will be available in three colorways:

  • Holographic Quick Silver
  • Fresh Mint
  • Low-Reflection Pitch Black

As usual, the phone will be sold on Amazon.in, in addition to OnePlus India online store and offline stores.
