SHARP AQUOS S3 with 6-inch FHD+ display, Dual rear cameras, Android Oreo announced

Last week Sharp said that it will introduce AQUOS S3 smartphone in Vietnam on March 28th, now the company has announced that phone in Taiwan early. It pack a 6-inch FHD+ display with a notch and has 91% screen-to-body ratio, and the company says that it is the most compact smartphone with a 6-inch screen. It is powered by Snapdragon 630 with 4GB RAM, runs Android 8.0 (Oreo) with Smile UX, has a 12-megapixel primary rear camera with f/1.75 aperture, 1.4um pixel size, dual-tone LED flash, similar to the S2, but has have a 13-megapixel secondary camera for portrait shots, instead of 8-megapixel in the predecessor. It also offers 2x loss-less zoom.

Samsung started rolling out Android 8.0 (Oreo) update for Galaxy Note8 in France recently. Today it has finally started rolling out the update in India. NS P7819 with Snapdragon 845, Android 8.1 surfaces in Geekbench, AnTuTu benchmarks, rumored to be OnePlus 6

A mysterious smartphone codenamed NS P7819 has surfaced on Geekbench and AnTuTu, which is rumored to be a prototype of the OnePlus 6. This reveals Snapdragon 845 SoC, 6GB RAM and Android 8.1 for the phone. AnTuTu listing also reveals 64GB storage and a Full HD+ display.

Xiaomi Black Shark gaming phone with Snapdragon 845 confirmed

A new smartphone code-named Blackshark surfaced on AnTuTu and Geekbench recently, which is believed to be Xiaomi’s first gaming smartphone under the new Black shark brand, in which Xiaomi started investing last year. Now the official Black Shark account on weibo and Qualcomm China have confirmed that it will be powered by Snapdragon 845. Nokia 1 Android Oreo (Go Edition) smartphone launched in India for Rs. 5499

After the Lava Z50 launch last week, Nokia 1 becomes the second Android Oreo (Go Edition) smartphone to launch in India. It was introduced at the MWC last month and packs a 4.5-inch screen,  is powered by a quad-core MediaTek SoC, runs Android 8.1 (Oreo), has 5MP rear camera with LED flash, 2MP front-facing shooter and supports 4G VoLTE. Since it is an Android Oreo (Go Edition) phone, it has all the Go Edition apps that are slowing making their way offering smooth experience.

Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S – 8GB RAM, 256GB storage, Ceramic body confirmed by CEO; surfaces in video ahead of March 27 announcement

Xiaomi is all set to introduce the Mi Mix 2S smartphone at an event in Shanghai tomorrow. The company already confirmed Snapdragon 845, AI camera, AI face unlock, AI scene recognition, AI dual camera and wireless charging support for the phone. Today the company’s CEO Lei Jun on weibo confirmed 8GB RAM and 256GB storage for the phone and also said that it will have a ceramic body curved on all four sides.

OPPO F7 with 6.23-inch FHD+ 19:9 display, 25MP front camera, Android 8.1 launched in India starting at Rs. 21990

OPPO just launched the F7, the company’s latest selfie-focused smartphone at an event in Mumbai. It has a 6.23-inch Full HD+19:9 aspect ratio display with a notch and 88% screen-to-body ratio, which it calls Super Full Screen and has a 25-megapixel front camera with support for real-time High Dynamic Range (HDR) sensor and AI Beauty 2.0 for an improved age and gender beautification effects and facial recognition capability by scanning 296 facial recognition points, a 20% improvement from the first-generation technology. Motorola expands retail footprint in India with 100 Moto Hub stores in Tamil Nadu

Motorola has been expanding its retail footprint across India rapidly. Earlier this year it opened 50 new Moto Hubs in New Delhi,  recently in opened 25 stores in Kolkata, 50 stores in Mumbai and it opened 100 Moto Hub stores in Karnataka earlier this week. Now the company has announced the opening of 100 new Moto Hubs in Tamil Nadu that includes 50 in Chennai, with a focus of strengthening retail store in the southern region. SHARP AQUOS S3 got certified by Taiwanese telecommunications regulator and TENAA few months back, but it was not announced, however the AQUOS S3 mini was introduced in China earlier this week. Now SHARP has confirmed that it will introduce AQUOS S3 smartphone in Vietnam on March 28th. It has confirmed that is will feature a 6-inch FHD+ display with a notch,  12-megapixel primary rear camera with f/1.75 aperture, 1.4um pixel size, dual-tone LED flash, similar to the S2, but it will have a 13-megapixel secondary camera instead of 8-megapixel in the predecessor. Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime 2 with 5.5-inch 1080p display, 13MP front and rear cameras unveiled in India for Rs. 13990

Samsung launched the Galaxy J7 Prime (SM-G610F) smartphone back in 2016. Now the company listed the Galaxy J7 Prime 2 (SM-G611F). It has a 5.5-inch 1080p screen with 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass protection and is powered by a 1.6GHz Octa-Core processor, has a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a fingerprint sensor on the front, but this comes with a 13-megapixel front camera, runs Android 7.1.1 (Nougat) and has 32GB of storage compared to 16GB in the predecessor. JioMusic, Saavn to merge in a deal valued at over US$ 1 billion

Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) today announced that it has signed an agreement to for combination of Saavn with JioMusic. The combined entity is valued at over US$1 billion, with JioMusic’s implied valuation at US$ 670 million. “The integrated business will be developed into a media platform of the future with global reach, cross-border original content, an independent artist marketplace, consolidated data and one of the largest mobile advertising mediums,” said RIL. Xiaomi Mi TV gets Hotstar app to stream sports, watch movies and TV shows

Xiaomi launched its Mi TV 4 55-inch 4K HDR TV last month and recently it launched the TV 4A series. At the TV 4 launch the company said that it has partnered with Hotstar, SunNxt, Voot, Sony LIV, Hungama, Zee5, ALTBalaji, Viu, TVF and flickstree offering over 500,000 hours of content. The company starting adding them slowly. Recently it announced that TVF videos and web-series will be available across all Mi TVs.
