OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T Android 8.1 Oreo OxygenOS beta update starts rolling out

OnePlus 5 got the Android 8.0 (Oreo) update earlier this year and the OnePlus 5T got the Oreo update last month. Now the company has started rolling out OxygenOS Open Beta 6 and Open Beta 4 for the 5 and 5T, respectively that brings Android 8.1 Oreo for both. This also brings new Gaming mode optimizations, new auto pickup gesture for incoming call and the OnePlus Switch has been updated to support migration of application data. Huawei Nova 3e with FullView display, dual rear cameras to be announced on March 20

Huawei today sent out invites for the announcement of Nova 3e, a new smartphone in the Nova series in China on March 20th, ahead of the announcement of P20 series, including the P20 Lite in Paris on March 27th. Last month @evleaks said that the P20 Lite will be sold in certain markets as the Nova 3e. The phone got certified in China recently with model numbers and ANE-TL00 and ANE-AL00.

Sony Xperia R1 and Xperia R1 Plus Android 8.0 Oreo update starts rolling out in India

Sony Mobile launched Xperia R1 and Xperia R1 Plus, two new mid-range smartphones exclusively in India last October running Android 7.1 (Nougat), and the company at the launch said that the phones will be upgraded to Android 8.0 (Oreo). Xiaomi teases new smartphone launch in India on March 14, Redmi 5 expected [Update: Amazon Exclusive]

Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro low headphone volume issue fix starts rolling out

Xiaomi launched the Redmi Note 5 Pro in India on 14th February, and released the OTA for enabling face unlock in last week of February. Earlier this week we came across posts on Mi Community in which users reported the Low sound output from headphones issue for the newly launched Redmi Note 5 Pro. Moderators on Mi Community India responded to these posts and asked users to provide buglogs for the issue. Xiaomi quickly addressed the issue and started rolling out a bug fix update this evening. HTC U Ultra Android 8.0 Oreo update starts rolling out

HTC was one of the first OEMs to confirm Android 8.0 (Oreo) update for some of its top-end devices. After rolling out Android Oreo update for the HTC U11 and HTC 10 smartphones, the company has started rolling out Android 8.0 (Oreo) update for the U Ultra smartphone starting from Taiwan. Some users are also reporting that the update is available in India as well. The changelog is simple that mentions Android 8.0 (Oreo) update and system enhancements.

Uber India ropes in Virat Kohli as brand ambassador

Uber just announced that it has signed Captain of the Indian Cricket team  Virat Kohli as its first brand ambassador in India. It said that this is the company’s first of its kind initiative across the Asia Pacific region. Last year Gionee India signed him as its brand ambassador.

Lenovo S5 with dual rear cameras, metal body teased, will take on Xiaomi Redmi Note 5

Earlier this week Lenovo announced that it will introduce the next ‘S series’ smartphone on March 20th, which is expected to be Lenovo S5. Today  Xiaomi’s CEO Lei Jun announced on weibo that the powerful Redmi Note 5 (that was launched asRedmi Note 5 Pro in India) with Snapdragon 636 and 6GB RAM will launch in China on March 16th. Quoting this, the company’s CEO Chang Cheng posted that wait till March 20th.

Nubia N3 with 6.01-inch Full HD+ display, dual rear cameras, 5000mAh battery announced

ZTE’s Nubia brand has introduced new Nubia N3 smartphone, successor of last year’s Nubia N2 in China. It packs the same 5000mAh battery, but this has a larger 6.01-inch FHD+ full-screen display, is powered by Snapdragon 625 with 4GB of RAM. It has 16-megapixel rear camera along with a secondary 5-megapixel camera to capture the depth information. Vodafone launches VoLTE services in Haryana

After Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, Gujarat, Maharashtra and Goa and Rajasthan, Vodafone has launched its VoLTE (Voice Over LTE) services in Haryana in India. It is currently available in Panipat, Sonipat, Yamunanagar, Ambala and Rohtak, and will gradually roll out across other cities in the state. Vivo V9 with FullView display, dual rear cameras said to launch in India on March 27

Vivo V9, the successor of V7 surfaced in live images earlier this week revealing full-screen display with a notch. It was also seen in some promo shots revealing dual rear cameras. Now a new report says that the phone will launch in India on March 27th and will cost Rs. 25,000, higher than the V7 and V7+ that were launched at Rs. 18,990 and Rs. 21,990, respectively.
