Samsung starts production of EUV-based 7nm LPP process

Samsung back in September last year announced that it is working on 7LPP (Low Power Plus) with EUV (extreme ultra violet) lithography technology for smartphones that is targeted for initial production in the second half of 2018. Earlier this Feburary it announced that it is building new EUV (extreme ultraviolet) line in Hwaseong, Korea. Earlier this week the company started wafer production of its revolutionary process node, 7LPP, the 7-nanometer (nm) LPP (Low Power Plus) with extreme ultraviolet (EUV) lithography technology.

OnePlus 6T launch event rescheduled to October 29, Here’s why

Earlier this month OnePlus sent out invites for the launch of its flagship OnePlus 6T smartphone globally including India on October 30th, now the company has announced that the event has been rescheduled to September 29th. The venue is same – Pier 36, New York City and starts at 11AM EDT. However, India launch event takes place at KDJW Stadium, inside Indira Gandhi Sports Complex, New Delhi on October 30th 8:30PM IST. Apple introduced the iPhone XR last month, and as promised the company started pre-orders for the smartphone in several countries, including India. Xiaomi Black Shark 2 Gaming smartphone with Snapdragon 845, 8GB RAM, dual rear cameras to be announced on October 23

Xiaomi-backed Black Shark has announced that the Black Shark 2 smartphone succcessor of the Black Shark Gaming Phone that was introduced in China back in April this year, will go official on October 23rd. The phone already got certified by TENAA with model number AWM-A0, revealing a veritical dual rear camera arrangement and rear mounted fingerprint sensor. It also revealed RGB logo on the back.

Alcatel has launched 3T 8, the company’s latest tablet in India. It packs a 8-inch (1280 x 800 Pixels) display, is powered by a quad-core MediaTek MT8765 processor, runs on Android 8.1 (Oreo), has an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. It has 4G VoLTE connectivity via SIM and support for voice calling through headset or speaker.

Reliance Jio reports Rs. 681 crore profit in FY Q2 2018-19, crosses 250 million subscribers

Reliance Jio has reported Rs. 9240 crore revenue, up 13.9% QoQ and 50.3 YoY and a net profit of 681 crore, up 11.3% QoQ for its fifth quarterly financial performance for the period that ended 30th September, 2018. Jio reported Standalone earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) of 3,573 crore, up 13.5% QoQ, EBITDA margin of 38.7%, and Standalone earnings before interest and tax (EBIT) of 2,042 crore, up 19.6% QoQ . Consolidated value of services stood at 10,901 crore, up 13.9% over trailing quarter. It has 252.3 million subscribers as of September 30th, achieving it in 25 months of commencemnt of services.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 with 10.5-inch WQXGA Super AMOLED display, Iris Scanner, S Pen, 4G LTE launched in India for Rs. 57900

Samsung has launched the Galaxy Tab S4, successor of last year’s Galaxy Tab S3, after it was introduced in August. It has a 10.5-inch Super AMOLED WQXGA screen, is powered by a Octa-Core Snapdragon 835 SoC and runs on Android 8.1 (Oreo). It has quad-stereo speakers tuned by AKG by HARMAN, similar to the predecessor and comes with an an enhanced S Pen. It has got rid of the fingerprint scanner and the home button on the front for Iris scanner.

In addition to S5 Pro, Lenovo also introduced the K5 Pro and K5s smartphones. The K5 Pro packs a 5.99-inch Full HD+ display with 18:9 aspect ratio, is powered by Snapdragon 636 with up to 6GB of RAM, runs Android 8.1 (Oreo) with ZUI on top, has a 16-megapixel front and rear cameras along with a 5-megapixel secondary front and rear cameras, both with LED flash and AI portraits. It has a fingerprint sensor on the back and packs a 4050mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging.

It is powered by Snapdragon 670 AIE / Snapdragon 710, depending on the model with 6GB of RAM, has a 12-megapixel rear camera with f/1.8 aperture along with a 2-megapixel secondary camera for AI portrait shots.
