Opera has finally released a beta version of their mobile browser for Android based on WebKit rendering engine. Opera already announced that they would move from Presto engine to WebKit engine that is being used widely, and this is their first release with the WebKit engine (AppleWebKit/537.22 and Chrome/25.0.1364.123) onboard. The new version also brings completely revamped UI, Off-Road mode, Opera Mini compression built-in, Omnibar with combined search and URL field and lots more. LG launches Optimus G Pro Quick Cover case

LG has released new Quick Cover case for the Optimus G in Korea. They come in 7 colors, including 5 shiny variants and two patterned variants. The Quick Cover case has a semiconductor device mounted on a magnetic substance on the cover, that makes the screen turn off immediately when closed, and wake up immediately when opened. Twitter to shut down TweetDeck for Android and iPhone


Twitter has announced that they would shut down TweetDeck mobile apps for Android and iPhone. Twitter stopped development of these apps when it acquired TweetDeck, and concentrated more on the official Twitter apps for Android, iPhone and iPad. Twitter for Android and iPhone got a new UI back in December 2011, and the latest update brought improved Search and Discover features. Samsung Galaxy S4 new renders surface, reveals design and specs

Samsung Galaxy S4 specifications surfaced last month along with an image, but the phone’s image was not clear to show the complete design. Now a new render has surfaced on twitter that shows the design of the Samsung’s next flagship Galaxy smartphone. Unlike the previous Galaxy S series smartphones, this doesn’t feature the home button or capacitive touch buttons below the display. Looks like Samsung would go the Nexus way finally. Lava Iris 430, the company’s upcoming Android Smartphone has surfaced on their official site. Lava recently launched Blockbuster Phoneday initiative, in which the company launches a product every Friday. Last week they launched the Iris 502, that already went on sale couple of weeks back. The Iris 430 packs a 4.3-inch (480 x 800 pixels) capacitive touch screen display, powered by a 1 GHz dual-core processor and runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). Pantel Technologies has launched T-Pad WS708C, their first Android Tablet with Dual SIM support. It has a 7-inch (800 x 480 pixels) capacitive touch screen display, powered by a 1 GHz processor and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). It has a 2-megapixel rear camera and a 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera. It comes with voice calling support and 3G connectivity through an external dongle. The HCL ME Y3 tablet that was launched in India earlier this year also has dual SIM support. The Croods by Rovio coming to Android, iPhone and iPad on March 14th

Rovio, the creator of the popular Angry Birds has partnered with DreamWorks Animation to launch their new game called The Croods. Rovio released the Angry Birds Rio in partnership for the Fox Digtal Entertaiment back in March 2011. Fruit Ninja: Puss in Boots, a movie tie-up game in partnership with DreamWorks was released for iPhone was released back in 2011. Bad Piggies is Rovio’s latest game, after  their totally different puzzle game Amazing Alex. LG LTE smartphone sales cross 10 million units globally

LG Electronics has announced that they have sold more than 10 million LTE smartphones globally. LG announced the Optimus LTE, their first LTE smartphone in Korea back in October 2011, and shipped over 600,000 units in Korea alone in just 100 days after the launch. The global shipments of Optimus LTE crossed the 1 million mark last January. Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 (Note 510) Photo Gallery

Samsung announced the Galaxy Note 8.0 as the Note 510 for the Indian markets at the Samsung Forum 2013 in Hyderabad yesterday. We got some hands-on time with the 8-inch tablet at the event. It has a 8.0-inch (1280 × 800 pixels) TFT Super Clear LCD display at 189 ppi pixel density, powered by a 1.6 GHz quad-core Exynos processor. Hyderabad, March 1, 2013 – Samsung has announced the Galaxy Note 510 (Galaxy Note 8.0) in India. The Galaxy Note 8.0 was announced at the MWC 2013 last week. The Samsung Galaxy Note 510 comes with a 8.0-inch (1280 × 800 pixels) TFT display, powered by a 1.6 GHz quad-core processor and runs on Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean). Sony releases Firefox OS experimental ROM for Xperia E

Sony confirmed that they are working on a Firefox OS device earlier this week. Now they have released a experimental ROM for Xperia E that would let developers try it our and get familiarise with the new OS. The Firefox OS is based on the open web standards that offers every feature in the phone developed as an HTML5 application and the user experience are developed by HTML, CSS and JavaScript. Google Play Books now available in India

Google has finally brought books to the Google Play Store in India. This would let the users browser, purchase and read from thousands of Indian eBook titles and millions of international eBooks from several categories on the Google Play Store. You can also read the purchased books on Android, iPhone, iPad and on Desktop. These books are competitively priced, and most of the books are priced similar to the Flipkart Flye eBooks and the Amazon Kindle eBooks Store. Nokia Lumia 520 and 720 price revealed for UK, coming in April

Both the Nokia Lumia 520 and the Lumia 720 are available for pre-order in UK from online retailer Clove. Both these devices were announced at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona earlier this week. The Lumia 520 has a 4-inch (800 x 480 pixels) IPS display and the Lumia 720 comes with a 4.3-inch  (800 x 480 pixels) ClearBlack LCD display.
