Google has released factory images of Android 5.1.1 (Lollipop) for Nexus 7 (Wi-Fi), Nexus 7 2013 (Wi-Fi) and Nexus 10 devices, soon after it released factory images for the Nexus Player. Google Nexus 10 even received 13.9 MB Android 5.1.1 over-the-air (OTA) update today, as noted by Android Police. Micromax has launched Canvas Laptab, its latest Windows 8.1 2-in-1 with inbuilt 3G SIM support. The company introduced a dual boot tab last year at the CES, which did not launch. This has a similar design, but it runs only on Windows 8.1 and has better specifications. It has a 10.1-inch (1280×800 pixels) IPS screen, is powered by a quad-core Intel Atom Z3735F processor, has a 2-megapixel rear camera and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. It comes with Office 365 subscription and also has a keyboard that has a touchpad so that it can double up as a laptop. Micromax has partnered with Amazon India to sell the Laptab. Asus Zenfone 2 (ZE551ML) was launched in India earlier this month at Rs. Rs. 19,999 for the 32GB and the 64GB variant was launched at Rs. 22,999. The company did not mention about the 128GB variant, now it’s listed on Flipkart at a price tag of Rs. 29,999. The 64GB and the 128GB variants of the Asus Zenfone 2 (ZE551ML) are listed as coming soon and the other variants are currently out of stock. This was spotted by gogi.in. Sony Mobile sales up 11% YoY, 39.1 million smartphones shipped in FY14

Sony Corporation has reported its revenues for fourth quarter of the financial year 2014 and the full year that ended March 31, 2015. Sales increased to 1,937.7 billion yen ( US$  16,148 million), an increase of 3.6% in Q4 14 compared to the same quarter last year. Sales for the whole financial year 2014 increased 5.8% to  8,215.9 billion yen ( US$ 68,466 million). It shipped 7.9 million smartphones in the quarter and 39.1 million smartphones in the financial year of 2014. Xiaomi sold 40,000 units of Mi 4i smartphones in just 15 seconds in the first flash sale today on Flipkart at 2PM. It received over 3 lakh registrations for the sale. Even though the company sells only the White variant of the smartphone, the company plans to bring blue, yellow and pink colors variants soon. Asus Zenfone 4, Zenfone 5 and Zenfone 6 Android 5.0 Lollipop update to roll out in May

Asus just announced that it will roll out Android 5.0 (Lollipop) update for its Zenfone series starting from this May. The Zenfone 5 LTE (A500KL) will be the first smartphone to get the Lollipop update starting from early May. The Zenfone 4 (A400CG/A450CG), Zenfone 5 (A500CG) and the Zenfone 6 (A600CG) smartphones will get the update mid-May. The Asus Zenfone S (PF500KL) will get the update early June.
