Oppo has launched Oppo R7 Lite and Oppo R7 Plus, new smartphones in the R series today in India. The Oppo R7 Lite has a 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD AMOLED display, while the Oppo R7 Plus features a 6-inch (1080 x 1920 pixels) Full HD AMOLED display. Acer has announced its new budget Liquid series of smartphones – Liquid Z330, Z320, M330 and M320 at the IFA 2015. All these share similar specifications that includes a 4.5-inch FWVGA screen, 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. The Z series run Android Lollipop 5.1 and the M series run Windows 10 Mobile. The Liquid Z330 and M330 have 4G support, while the Z320 and the M320 have 3G connectivity. The 6th Gen Intel Skylake is also based on 14 nm architecture, similar to the 5th Gen Broadwell processors, but this has a substantial change in the underlying silicon with new features and design paradigms, according to Intel. Samsung has launched the Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 (SM-T815Y), the latest tablet in the Galaxy Tab S series in India. It has a 9.7-inch Super AMOLED display at QXGA resolution, is powered by a Octa-Core Exynos SoCs and runs on Android 5.0 (Lollipop). It has a 8-megapixel rear camera without flash and a 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera. It is just 5.6mm thick, making it the world’s thinnest tablet currently. This includes several improvements and fixes, including improvements for fingerprint recognition, fixes for speaker bug and front-facing camera bug. It got Oxygen OS 2.0.1 update with patches for Stagefright security exploit, battery performance improvements, SIM card import/export fixes and more. Huawei had been teasing its upcoming smartphone focusing on touch for IFA announcement. Today @evleaks has posted press shots of the MateS smartphone in three colors and a fingerprint reader on the back. This clearly shows the date as September 2nd, which is tomorrow.

Meizu has announced that it will offer doorstep delivery repair services for its customers in India. It already has 28 service centres across India, and it announced at the MX5 launch that it plans to open more than 40 service centres across 20 cities in the near future.

Samsung has announced its Gear S2 range of smartwatches – Gear S2, Gear S2 3G and Gear S2 classic, ahead of IFA 2015. Last year it announced only one version called the Gear S with 3G support. All these have a 1.2-inch ( 360×360 pixels) Circular Super AMOLED displays, rotating bezel and run on Tizen based wearable platform. These also have Home and Back buttons to access notifications and applications easily.The Gear S2 3G has built-in e-SIM support that lets you independently make and receive calls, without connecting to a device and also offers 3G support.
