Huawei Watch launched in India for Rs. 22999

Huawei has finally launched the Huawei Watch in India, as expected. It was originally announced back in March last year, but it went on sale only in September. It has a 1.4-inch (400 x 400 pixels) circular AMOLED display with 10,000:1 high contrast ratio, scratch-proof sapphire crystal lens and has cold-forged stainless steel frame. LG introduces world’s first UHD TV receiver chip

LG has announced that it has developed the world’s first TV built-in receiver chip (LG3307) that enables users to view Ultra HD (UHD) content without a separate set-top box. This is based on next-generation broadcast standard ATSC 3.0 developed by the Advanced Television Systems Committee (ATSC) and uses ROUTE (Real⁃Time Object Delivery over Unidirectional Transport) protocol. Huawei has introduced MediaPad T2 10.0 Pro tablet, few months after it announced the MediaPad M2 10.0 tablet at the CES 2016. This has a similar 10.1-inch WUXGA IPS display and runs on Android 5.1 (Lollipop) with Emotion UI 3.1 on top, but this is powered by an Octa-Core Snapdragon 616 SoC, instead of Kirin 930 SoC. It has a 8-megapixel auto focus rear camera with LED flash, 2-megapixel front-facing camera. It is just 8.5mm thick and also comes with 4G LTE connectivity. Micromax partners with Visa and TranServ for mobile payment solution

Micromax today announced a strategic partnership with TranServ and Visa to offer mobile payment solution for its customers. This new feature will soon be available to Micromax smartphone users through the Udio app, which is a digital wallet enabled by TranServ to create social or merchant payments. It allows consumers to shop using a Visa card number linked to the underlying prepaid wallet, wherever Visa is accepted, thereby making the same money available for both for the online and offline payment.

A month after rolling out Android Marshmallow update for Xperia Z5, Z5 Compact and the Z5 Premium last month, Sony Mobile has started rolling out Android 6.0.1 update for its Xperia Z2 and Z3 series. The update is currently live for the Xperia Z2 (D6503 only), Xperia Z3 (D6603 only) and Xperia Z3 Compact (D5803 only). These phones were part of the beta program and the final version of the firmware has the same build number (23.5.A.0.570) as beta. Earlier this week Paytm partnered with eKart to pilot a service, where goods shipped from its platform will be delivered by eKart. 70% of Flipkart’s total number of orders are handled by eKart.

Airtel to acquire Aircel’s 4G spectrum in 8 circles for Rs. 3500 crore

Bharti Airtel has announced that the company and its subsidiary, Bharti Hexacom have entered into definitive agreements with Aircel and its subsidiaries, Dishnet Wireless to acquire rights to use 20 MHz of 2300 Band 4G spectrum for eight circles – Tamil Nadu (including Chennai), Bihar, Jammu & Kashmir, West Bengal, Assam, North East, Andhra Pradesh and Orissa for an aggregate consideration of Rs. 3,500 crore.
