At its CES 2016 event Qualcomm showed off the Letv Le Max Pro, which becomes the first smartphone to be announced with Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 820 processor and Qualcomm Sense ID Fingerprint technology that will offer more secure authentication on mobile devices. Snapdragon 820 also has 802.11ad multi-gigabit Wi-Fi and X12 LTE with Cat. 12/13 download speeds of up to 600 Mbps. Other features are similar to the Letv Le Max that was introduced last year. Motorola has finally started rolling out Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) OTA update for the Moto X Play smartphone in India. Motorola rolled out the Android Marshmallow update for the Moto X Style in India back in November last year. In an interview last month, Amit Boni, general manager of Motorola India confirmed that Motorola will roll out Marshmallow update for the Moto X Play in India soon.

Broadcom Corporation today announced BCM43012, its latest and lowest power Wi-Fi/Bluetooth combo chip for mobile platforms and accessories at the CES 2016. It also announced BCM20797, its highest performing Near Field Communications (NFC) controller. The company’s latest Wi-Fi/Bluetooth combo chip promises 3X longer battery life compared to Broadcom’s previous combo chips. “In some applications, the BCM43012 Wi-Fi consumes 80 percent less power than the most common Bluetooth solutions today,” said the company. Asus today launched the ZenWatch 2, its latest Android Wear smartwatch in India. It was announced at the Computex 2015 in June last year and went on sale in the U.S. through Google Store in October 2015. The ZenWatch 2 comes in two models, WI501Q with a 1.63″ (320×320 pixels) 278ppi AMOLED display and WI502Q with a 1.45″ (280×280 pixels) 273ppi AMOLED display.
