A researcher at Eindhoven University of Technology has discovered 7 new vulnerabilities in Intel’s Thunderbolt technology that enables attackers to access a system’s data even if it is encrypted or if the device is locked. Apple said to shift 20% of production capacity to India, aims for $40 billion revenue in the next 5 years

Apple may be on track to increase India’s local manufacturing revenue to nearly $40 billion over the next 5 years, as a result of the Government of India’s Production Linked Incentive scheme (PLI) for large scale electronics manufacturing. The scheme will be largely availed by two of Apple’s contract manufacturers, namely Winstron and Foxconn.

India smartphone market saw 32.5 million shipments, up 1.5% YoY in Q1 2020: IDC

Being the only one among the top 3 to record a positive growth for the first quarter of 2020, the Indian smartphone market shipped 32.4 million units overall. This calculates to a growth of 1.5% YoY, whereas the Chinese and US markets saw a decline of 20.3% YoY and 16.0% YoY respectively. The top 5 manufacturers continue to be Xiaomi, Vivo, Samsung, realme and OPPO.
