Samsung Gear S3 Frontier Review

Samsung Gear S3 Frontier Review -10

Depending on who you speak to, wearables and in particular smartwatches are a failed category. The pace of fresh launches has slowed down to a trickle and smartwatches just haven’t quite caught the market by storm the way they were expected to. An over-dependence on a paired phone, little use beyond notifications has made these a tough sell. That said, Samsung’s Gear series of Tizen based smartwatches have consistently pushed the envelope in terms of capabilities. We found last year’s Gear S2 to be a surprisingly good smartwatch with some great ideas. With the Gear S3, the company is kicking things up a notch in terms of design and capabilities. Here’s our review of the Samsung Gear S3 Frontier.  Continue reading “Samsung Gear S3 Frontier Review”

Sony NW-A35 Walkman Review

Sony NW-A35 Walkman -15

In 2017, a dedicated music player isn’t something that is on most people’s radar. With phones not only capable of playing back most formats but also being able to deliver high quality audio, there’s not much of a reason for most users to invest in an iPod or Walkman. There is however a subset of people who value quality audio. The kind of people who won’t settle for less than lossless audio, a clean source and a high-end pair of headphones. The Sony NW A35 Walkman is aimed at those people. Does it deliver on the performance? We find out in our review. Continue reading “Sony NW-A35 Walkman Review”

Asus Zenfone 3s Max Review : All Day Power

zenfone 3s max-1

The Zenfone 3s Max marks yet another entry into the increasingly crowded Zenfone series of devices by Asus. We recently observed the launch of the Zenfone 3 Ultra, the Zenfone 3 Deluxe, the Zenfone 3 Zoom, the Zenfone 3 Max, all of which brought something unique to the table. Between the Max and the all new Zenfone 3s Max, you get a much larger battery, a lower resolution display and a MediaTek processor. How does this bode for user experience and does it warrant an upgrade so early in the product cycle? We find out in our review.  Continue reading “Asus Zenfone 3s Max Review : All Day Power”

Asus ZenFone 3s Max First Impressions

zenfone 3s max-1

It was just a while back that Asus launched the Zenfone 3 series of phones in India. Following the flagship, we saw the Zenfone 3 Ultra, the Zenfone 3 Deluxe, the Zenfone 3 Zoom, the Zenfone 3 Max and now, yet another Zenfone. Dubbed the Zenfone 3s Max, it is a bit more powerful and packs a ginormous battery into a not so large shell. While we work on bringing you the full review of the phone, here’s our first impressions after spending a couple of days with the hardware. Continue reading “Asus ZenFone 3s Max First Impressions”

Brainwavz M3 Review

Brainwavz M3 -2

Brainwavz, the popular Hong Kong based audio product manufacturer has put in a lot of effort over the years to make it’s presence felt in the higher end segment. While the Alpha in-ears we reviewed a while back were aimed directly at the entry level segment, the Brainwavz M3 is invariably a fairly high end headset. We’ve spent some time with the earphone and here’s what we think of it. Continue reading “Brainwavz M3 Review”

Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 Review

Redmi Note 4-2

Last year’s Redmi Note 3 turned out to be one of the most popular smartphones in the sub Rs. 15,000 segment and deservedly so. Between good specifications and even better pricing, the phone received praises from the critics and customers both. So when Xiaomi sent over the Redmi Note 4 over review, we were obviously very excited. Having spent the last few weeks with the phone, here’s what we think of the Redmi Note 4. Lenovo Yoga Book Review: A Beautiful Concept

Lenovo Yoga Book -1

Working in the technology industry, we often get a chance to try out bleeding edge tech. While a lot of this tends to be centred around smartphones, traditional PCs too have seen the benefits. From the near bezel-less Dell XPS series to the Touch Bar equipped Macbook Pro and now the Yoga Book which gets rid of a traditional keyboard for a layout that is both extraordinary to look at and surprisingly functional too. Continue reading “Lenovo Yoga Book Review: A Beautiful Concept”

Xolo Era 2X Review

Xolo Era 2X -13

Xolo has always been a bit slow to adopt the latest specifications, opting for a more refined and well-rounded experience. The company recently launched their first smartphone equipped with a fingerprint scanner. Admittedly, very late to the market, we spent some time with the device to see if it packs enough to  still be a viable competitor. Continue reading “Xolo Era 2X Review”

Reos Iota Lite Bluetooth Smart LED Bulb Review

Iota Lite-1

As technology works to revolutionize and upgrade every facet of life, it is just the basic utilities like fans and lighting systems that have been relatively left behind. Sure, Philips has spearheaded this category with their Hue series of lights and lamps but the cost attached to embracing the format has made it out of the reach for a lot of prospective buyers especially in India. Cube26, a Bangalore based startup has been involved in the IOT sphere for some time now and recently introduced the next generation of its smart LED bulbs. We decided to take them for a spin and see how well they work out. Continue reading “Reos Iota Lite Bluetooth Smart LED Bulb Review”

Here’s our review of the Panasonic F-VXF35MA Air Purifier. Continue reading “Panasonic F-VXF35MA Nanoe Air Purifier Review”
