First Data partners with Tyfone to bring NFC to the masses

NFC or Near Field Communications in Mobile phones has never gone mainstream due to the very poor adoption by handset makers.  It’s practically very difficult to get hold of a mobile handset supported NFC even for testing forget about retail.  First Data and Tyfon have joined hands to bring NFC to the masses and this move can be a game changer for mobile payments and near field communications.  The have managed to create microSD card with a NFC chip inside and this means that roughly 60% of today phones can become a real mobile wallet when used along with these special memory cards. Bangalore, Thiruvananthapuram, and now Hyderabad witness BSNL 3G Services

Its not been more then couple of days when we posted about the launch of BSNL 3G services in Thiruvanathapuram. Soon after the launch of high speed 3G services in Bangalore and Thiruvananthapuram, 3G services are now launched in the state capital of Andhra pradesh – Hyderabad!

Download Fring for Nokia E72 and more Symbian S60 devices and start making Video Calls

After Bangalore, BSNL Launches its 3G Services in Thiruvananthapuram

Earlier this week, BSNL launched its 3G services in Bangalore in the presence of the telecom minister – A. Raja. After the successful rollout in Bangalore, BSNL have now launched its high speed data transfer 3G services in Thiruvananthapuram but this time it was Sashi Tharoor (Minister of state for external affairs) who was being invited to launch the services.

Not only one, may be many.What was once an expensive chip to acquire back in the early days of mobile telephony has become a very cheap plastic card that is available even for free if the mobile operators are desperate to add new connections. Yesterday Apple announced the iPad which works over Wi-Fi and 3G / GSM networks with microSIM cards. If you thought that the MicroSIM or 3FF Sim Card is a new invention , you might be wrong .
