Asus unveiled an upgraded version of the Fonepad 7  (FE375CG) earlier this week at Computex 2014 in Taipei. We got to check out the tablet at the event show floor earlier this week. The first Fonepad 7 had a dual-core Intel Atom Z2560 processor and the Fonepad 7 Dual SIM that was launched in India had a dual-core Intel Atom Z2520 processor, but this one has a faster quad-core Intel Atom Z3560 processor. Lenovo A7-50 with quad-core processor, voice calling officially launched in India for Rs. 15499

Lenovo A7-50 in the A7 series went on sale in India earlier this week. Asus MeMO Pad 8 vs Asus MeMO Pad 7 Photo Gallery

At the Computex 2014 event held in Taipei, Asus announced successors to the MeMO Pad 7 and MeMO Pad 8. The Asus MeMO Pad 7 wasn’t much of an update, but the MeMO Pad 8 was updated with a better Full HD display and internal specifications overhaul. We managed to get our hands on both the updated Asus MeMO Pad 7 and Asus MeMO Pad 8 and we shot a photo gallery comparing the two MeMO Pads.

Google unveils Project Tango 3D prototype tablet with Tegra K1 processor for $1024

Reports that surfaced online last month suggested that Google is working  on tablets that boasts of advanced vision capabilities that can take precise 3D images of objects. Now, Google has made the tablets official by announcing a prototype for developers.

Barnes & Noble and Samsung join hands to launch co-branded Nook tablets

Barnes & Noble is teaming up with Samsung to launch a new line of  tablets. The duo will roll out co-branded line of tablets that are dubbed as Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 Nook. Equipped with Samsung’s hardware the tablets will be based on Samsung’s entry-level 7-inch Galaxy Tab 4. They will also boast of customized Nook software from Barnes & Noble. Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 and Tab 4 10.1 listed on official eStore in India at Rs. 23960 and Rs. 30498

Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 (SM-T331) and the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 (SM-T531) that were unveiled back in April are now listed on official Samsung India eStore. Both these tablets have 8.0-inch and 10.1-inch WXGA displays with 16:10 screen ratio, powered by 1.2 quad-core processors and run on Android 4.4 (KitKat). Intel unveils ultra-thin Llama Mountain prototype tablet cum laptop

Intel showcased world’s first 14nm fanless mobile PC reference design at the ongoing Computex 2014 in Taipei. Dubbed as Llama Mountain, the tablet is based on the company’s upcoming Broadwell processor and is runs on Windows 8.1.

Dell announces new Venue 7 and Venue 8 tablets with Android 4.4 KitKat

Dell has unveiled two Android tablets that are an upgrade to its Venue series at the Computex. Dubbed as Venue 7 and Venue 8, the tablets run on latest Android KitKat 4.4 and starts at US$159 and US$199 respectively.

Asus has announced Fonepad 8 (FE380CG) and a new version of the Fonepad 7 (FE375CG) at the Computex 2014. The Fonepad 8 has a 8-inch (1280 x 800 pixels) IPS display with 5.06mm narrow bezel bezel and a screen-to-body ratio of 72.2%. The Fonepad 7 has a 7-inch (1280 x 800) display. Both these tablets are powered by a 1.8 GHz quad-core 64-bit Intel Atom Z3560 processor with PowerVR Series 6 GPU and runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat) with Zen UI . Asus has announced  MeMO Pad 8 (ME581CL), a refreshed version of last year’s  MeMO Pad 8 at the Computex 2014. It has a 8-inch (1200×1920 pixels) IPS display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3, powered by a 2.3 GHz quad-core Intel Atom Z3580 processor and runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat) with Zen UI on top. MediaTek MT8127 quad-core SoC with Mali-450 MP4 GPU announced for tablets

MediaTek has just announced MT8127, the company’s latest quad-core SoC for tablets and it is aimed at super-mid markets. It has four ARM Cortex A7 cores, each clocked up to 1.5 GHz and has a quad-core ARM Mali-450 MP4 GPU. Other features include full hardware support for the HEVC (H.265) video playback standard, support for up to 13MP camera module, Full HD 1080p video recording and playback and more. Acer has just announced the Iconia Tab 8 ahead of Computex 2014 in Taiwan. The tablet has a 8-inch (1920 x 1200 pixels) full HD display with Zero Air Gap technology and 16:10 aspect ratio, powered by a quad-core Intel Atom (Z3745) processor and runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat). India registers 32% decline in tablet shipments for Q1 2014: IDC

Poor user demand has resulted into a sluggish start of the 2014 for the Indian tablet market. As per recent report from IDC, tablet shipments in India dropped by 32.8 per cent for the first quarter of 2014 at 0.78 million units.
