Android 5.0 Lollipop update has started rolling out to LG G Pad 8.3 Google Play Edition. The tablet had received Android KitKat 4.4 update in June.

As the tablet is a GPE device, the Lollipop update is similar to Google Nexus tablets. As a result of the Android 5.0 update, the LG G Pad 8.3 will receive Material Design user interface elements. It also brings lock screen notifications, a new battery saving mode, and features like Priority Mode and Smart Lock.
The LG G Pad 8.3 GPE edition sports a 8.3 Full HD IPS WUXGA (1920 x 1200 pixels) display and is powered by a 1.7GHz Quad-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 Processor. The Lollipop update is 405 MB and users can manually check for OTA update. Check out our LG G Pad 8.3 GPE edition tablet review here.

HTC has announced two new Dual SIM smartphones – Desire 620 dual SIM and Desire 620G dual SIM for Taiwan after the Desire 620 leaked recently. Xiaomi reduced the price of the Redmi Note to Rs. 8,999 and announced that it will go on sale in India on Flipkart on December 2nd. Today the company has announced that 50,000 units of Redmi Note smartphones will be available for purchase in the first batch of sales next Tuesday at 2PM. 40,000 Redmi 1S smartphones went on sale on the smartphone’s first sale on September 2nd. Cyanogen Inc. recently announced an exclusive partnership with Micromax in India to build Cyanogen OS for Yu branded devices launching in December. It also said that Cyanogen OS will not support any other devices shipping in India with future updates including Lollipop. OnePlus has now come forward to announce that it will offer own builds for the OnePlus One smartphones in India and the first community build will be available starting December, with the final build ready by February 2015.
