HONOR 50 with 6.57-inch FHD+ 120Hz OLED display, Snapdragon 778G, 108MP quad rear cameras global roll out begins

After the announcement in China back in July, HONOR has introduced the HONOR 50 smartphone for global markets, starting from Malaysia earlier this week. As confirmed earlier, the runs Android 11 with Magic UI 4.2 on top with Google Mobile Services instead of HONOR Mobile Services in the Chinese version. iQOO Z5x with 6.58-inch FHD+ 120Hz display, Dimensity 900, 50MP rear camera, 5000mAh battery announced

iQOO just introduced the iQOO Z5x, a cheaper phone in the Z series compared to the iQOO Z5 in China, as it had announced. It has a 6.58-inch FHD+ LCD screen with 120Hz refresh rate, 240Hz touch sampling rate, DCI-P3 color gamut, HDR 10 and TUV Rheinland low blue light certification. The phone is powered by MediaTek Dimensity 900 processor with liquid cooling that can reduce the core temperature by up to 10° C. It has up to 8GB of RAM and up to 3GB of virtual RAM. Google just announced new Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro 5G smartphones at its fall launch event, as promised. The Pixel 6 comes with a 6.4-inch FHD+ OLED display with 90Hz refresh rate, and the Pixel 6 Pro comes with a 6.7-inch Quad HD+ OLED display with 120Hz variable refresh rate. Both the smartphones are powered by Google Tensor SoC with support for 5G SA/NSA and come with Titan M2 Security chip. These run Android 12, and Google has confirmed that starting with Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro, Pixels will receive security updates for at least 5 years, but OS updates is at 3 years. Ant Play cloud gaming service launched in India starting at Rs. 999 per week

Apple introduces M1 Pro and M1 Max SoCs with up to 10-core CPU, up to 32-core GPU, ProRes support

Apple at its ‘Unleashed’ event announced M1 Pro and M1 Max, the next-generation chips and successor to last year’s M1 promises up to 70% faster CPU performance. The GPU in M1 Pro is up to 2x faster than M1, while M1 Max is up to 4x faster than M1, says Apple. These are still based on the 5nm process technology, but come with a system-on-a-chip (SoC) architecture featuring an unified memory, better performance per watt, and incredible power efficiency, along with increased memory bandwidth and capacity.
