Amazon has launched Amazon Music Unlimited on-demand streaming service in the US. The service boats catalog of over tens of millions of songs, hand-curated playlists and personalized stations.

The service is being launched to compete with other players like Spotify, Apple Music, and Google Play Music.  Amazon Music Unlimited will be available to Amazon Prime members for $7.99 per month or $79 per year. This is cheaper than the premium options from Spotify or Apple Music. Meanwhile owners of one of Amazon’s voice-controlled Echo devices will be able to get the service for just $3.99 per month.

The service is launching today in the U.S. on iOS and Android, PC and Mac, Echo devices, Amazon tablets, and the web. Amazon promises to bring Amazon Music Unlimited to the U.K., Germany, and Austria later this year, too.

Jeff Bezos, Amazon Founder and CEO said,

If you want a sense of the future of voice-controlled music, go ahead and ask Alexa for a free Music Unlimited trial, and play around on your Echo. If you don’t know the name of a song but know a few lyrics, if you want to hear songs from a specific decade, or even if you’re looking for music to match your mood, just ask.
