NTT Docomo to develop mobile phone chips with Samsung, Panasonic and others

Japan’s largest telecom operator NTT Docomo has announced that they have made an agreement with five companies, Fujitsu, Fujitsu Semiconductor, NEC Corporation, Panasonic Mobile Communications and Samsung Electronics to create a joint venture company by the end of March 2012 that would develop and sell semiconductor products for mobile devices. Nokia has been crazily promoting it’s Lumia handsets in India under the Amazing Everyday banner and I’m sure none of you might have missed the news (Even my mom knows about it !). The Samsung GALAXY Y DUOS 3.14-inch touch screen display and has polished metallic casing. It is 11.98mm thin and weighs 109 g. The GALAXY Y Pro DUOS features a 2.6-inch touch screen display and a full QWERTY keyboard, 3MP camera and secondary VGA camera that was missing in GALAXY Y Pro. Research in Motion (RIM) has launched the BlackBerry Curve 9360, Bold 9900 and Torch 9810 in pure white color in India. The BlackBerry Bold 9900 is thinnest BlackBerry smartphone which is just 10.5mm thick. All the features are same as the black versions of the BlackBerry Curve 9360, Bold 9900 and the Torch 9810 that was launched in India recently. The Bold 9900 and Torch 9810 feature 1.2 GHz processor and the Curve is powered by a 800 MHz processor. All these phones run on the latest BlackBerry 7 OS.
