Palm Pre Released on O2 UK!

The Apple iPhone competitor from Palm has finally arrived in the UK. The Palm Pre is now available in the UK on the O2 network.

You can get the Palm Pre on a two year contract for 34.26 pounds (56 US $) a month. The plan allows unlimited data, 600 talktime minutes and 500 text messages. Nokia Posts 426 Million Operating Loss

Nokia has reported its Q3 2009 results and it reported an operating loss of 426 million euros  compared to an operating profit of 1.5 billion euros Q3 2008. This is said to be Nokia’s first quarterly loss in over a decade.This is mainly due to a goodwill write down for Nokia Siemens Networks (1.17 Billion Euros). Sony Ericsson Sunny and Susan Leaked!

Here are two new leaks from Sony Ericsson. Sunny and Susan are code-names and not the final product numbers/names.

Both the devices ie Sunny and Susan look very similar to Nokia 6500 Slide and Nokia 6500 Classic respectively. The main similarities being the chrome accents and keypads.

Vodafone UK and RIM announce Blackberry Storm2 with Wi-Fi

Vodafone and RIM introduce the BlackBerry Storm2 Smartphone

Vodafone and Research in Motion(RIM) have officially announced the BlackBerry Storm2, a touchscreen smartphone device. The BlackBerry Storm2 is a thinner and sleeker device with new technology and new features to let customers stay easily connected. Customers in the UK will be able to get the new smartphone first through Vodafone. It is also expected to be offered in Ireland, followed by Germany, Netherlands, Spain, France, Italy and South Africa in November or December.

  • Features a proximity sensor that powers down the display when the phone is next to your ear on a call. As soon as you pull the phone away from your ear the screen powers on and you can enable calling feature.

Pricing is said to depend on each country’s operating company. Vodafone UK will be offering the BlackBerry Storm2 free from £35 per month on a 24-month contract that includes 600 minutes talk-time, unlimited BlackBerry Internet Service, unlimited text messaging, as well as unlimited access to VMI (Vodafone Mobile Internet) and broadband.

I am one lucky guy, I know that, I get to attend the premier events around the world when it comes to mobile technology and I get to play with the latest and greatest devices.  Sometimes devices I’m not at liberty to talk about for months.  So when I was at CTIA last week in San Diego I made sure to take a look at the N900.  My short introduction to it really hooked me.  I’m a big fan of HootSuite, a web based Twitter app and I was happily shocked when Chanse Arrington got it running on his N900 without any hitch or tweaking of settings during the GoMo News Blender.  I mean I was really impressed.  Then the next day Joe Gallo had 24 apps running simultaneously on his N900.  That’s not a typo, he really had 24 going. Apple starts shipping un-jailbreakable iPhone 3GS’s

Now JailBreak iPhone 3G with Firmware 3.1 on Windows

It looks like the cat and mouse game between Apple and the iPhone Dev team has started again.

According to an article on iClarified, Apple is now shipping a new BootROM called iBoot-359.3.2 with all the new iPhone 3GS’s  that completely blocks the “24kpwn” exploit, which is being currently used by the iPhone Dev Team and others to jailbreak the iPhone/iPod Touch.
