HTC Desire VC that was announced along with the Desire V in June is now available in India from online retailer Saholic in India. It is a Dual SIM smartphone with Dual Active feature, and supports CDMA and GSM networks on each SIM cards. The specs are similar to the Desire V including, 4-inch (480 x 800 pixels) capacitive touch screen display, 1GHZ single-core processor. It runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) with HTC Sense 4.0 UI. It is 9.42 mm thick and weighs 118 g. Back in June, Spotify added a radio feature to its iOS app for premium subscribers. The Swedish company has now done the same for Android users. The feature which works in a way quite similar to Pandora radio, allows premium subscribers to listen to an unlimited number of stations and songs.

Sony has officially announced that they are investigating future Android OS upgrades for all devices including 2011 Xperia smartphones. John Cooper, Product Manager of Sony UK who attended an online Q&A session on Facebook last week said that XPERIA Arc S and the XPERIA mini Pro would not be upgraded to Jelly Bean. Sony says that the information from the spokesperson about the Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) software development and rollout for 2011 Xperia smartphones was an error. Range of slides with the details about Sony Xperia Tablet has surfaced on XDA developers forum. According to the source who claims to working for Sony, this first tablet under Xperia brand and would come with aluminium splash-proof body, 9.4-inch (1280 x 800) display similar to the Tablet S but would be powered by Tegra 3 quad-core CPU. It would run on Android 4.0 or later (we can expect Jelly Bean) and would come with a 1MP front-facing camera and a 8MP rear camera. It would be 8.8mm-thick, 42% thinner than the Tablet S. Casio has introduced its latest tablets aimed at business users in the Japanese market. All four tablets have a 10.1″ 1,280×800 multi-touch LED display. The Paper Writer V-N500-WJ and Paper Writer V-N500-J come with a stylus and have handwriting recognition capabilities which also let it convert handwritten text to digital.

Multiple sources are claiming that the next big Apple product launch is about a month away. iMore is reporting a September 12th date for the event in which the new iPhone (iPhone 5) and a smaller version of the iPad (iPad Mini) will be launched. The Incredible S was launched in India in March 2011 with Android 2.2 (Froyo) and it got the Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) update in May 2011. Images of 10-inch BlackBerry PlayBook has surfaced in a Vietnamese website. The BlackBerry roadmap that leaked earlier this month mentioned a 10-inch BlackBerry PlayBook scheduled for Q3 2013.
