One of our readers has spotted the Micromax YU smartphone in Zauba import/export database that shows the pricing for a single unit as Rs. 8,301. Canada is backing the continued growth and existence of BlackBerry with a large 5-year $850 million loan to British communications giant Vodafone Group. Under the terms of the agreement, Vodafone will use $750 million to purchase equipment and services produced by BlackBerry and the other $100 million with smaller Canadian companies. Opera has updated its Coast browser for iPhone and iPad to version 4.0 that brings several new features, including Opera’s Turbo data-savings technology, which reduces webpages to a fraction of their original size, for speedier browsing, thus saving time and data charges when you are using GPRS/Edge networks or crowded Wi-Fi hotspots. Huawei just announced the Honor 6 Plus at an event in China. It has a 5.5-inch 1080p screen with 72.8% screen-to-body ratio and 2.8mm slim bezels on the sides, is powered by a Octa-Core (4×1.8GHz + 4×1.3GHz) Hisilicon Kirin 925 processor with i3 low-power sensor and runs on Android 4.4 with Huawei’s own Emotion UI 3.0 on top. The main highlight is its dual 8-megapixel cameras on the back with dual LED flashes for effective pixel size to 1.98 microns resulting in sharper images, and an adjustable aperture that can be set between f/0.95 and f/16. Microsoft just launched the Nokia Lumia 638, the company’s most affordable 4G smartphone in India. It was originally introduced in China back in June and has a 4.5-inch FWVGA screen, is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 and runs Windows Phone 8.1 with Lumia Cyan.
