Apple has announced for a global recall for its Beats Pill XL speakers sighting fire safety risk due to overheating of battery in the speaker in rare cases. This does not affects Beats Pill 2.0 or any other Beats or Apple products, says the company. It was introduced by Beats by Dre in November 2013. Apple acquired Beats for $3 billion in 2014. The Bluetooth speaker was sold through Apple Retail Stores and major retail stores, Apple.com and Beatsbydre.com from January 2014 through June 2015. It has a 5-inch 1080p display, is powered by an Octa-Core Snapdragon 615 SoC, runs on Android 4.4 KitKat with Expect OS 5.0. It has a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. The smartphone is just 7.4mm thick, weighs 110 grams and has unibody premium magnesium alloy build.
