Microsoft announces new Nokia 105 and Nokia 105 Dual SIM feature phones

Microsoft on Wednesday has announced new Nokia 105 and Nokia 105 Dual SIM feature phones for the global market. These are the successor feature phones of the popular Nokia 105 launched in 2013. Keeping its success in mind, company has decided to stick with the old name only.

Priced at $20 (approximately Rs. 1,250) before taxes and subsidies, the new Nokia 105 and Nokia 105 Dual SIM will be available in cyan, black and white colour options. It will start selling globally in select markets by the end of this month.

Both the Nokia 105 feature phone variants come with Micro-USB charging point and feature 1.45-inch HighColor (16-bit/64K) LCD screen. Its extended phonebook capacity can store up to 2,000 contacts. It also includes features like torchlight and FM radio as well.

The Nokia 105 is backed by an 850mAh battery, which is rated to deliver up to 15 hours of talk time and up to 35 days of standby time. The Dual SIM variant has a standby time of up to 25 days.

Commenting on the announcement, Microsoft’s Product Marketing Director, Pekka Haverinen said:

Our phones are as tough and long-lasting as they’ve always been – and of course look great at the same time. […] We’ve also recognised the desire for Dual SIM mobile phones. People have so many reasons to want a dual SIM device, from having separate numbers for work and family to interstate travel and sharing phones. We’re happy to announce that the new Nokia 105 Dual SIM is our most affordable Dual SIM device to date.
