Reliance Jio has launched Asia-Africa-Europe (AAE-1) submarine cable system, the longest 100Gbps technology based submarine system that will stretch over 25,000 km from Marseille, France to Hong Kong, with 21 cable landings across Asia and Europe. “This large scale project is the combined work of leading telecom service providers from Europe, the Middle East, and Asia,” said the company. OnePlus launched its flagship OnePlus 5 smartphone in India on June 22nd and the phone went on early sales exclusively on Amazon.in starting at Rs. 32,999 on the same day and it went on open sale from June 27th. Today the company has announced that the smartphone has become the highest revenue-grossing smartphone in the launch week on Amazon.in. But it did not reveal the number of smartphones sold during the launch week or revenue made by selling the phone.

Canon has introduced EOS 6D Mark II, a new Full-frame DSLR targeted at budding photographers. It has a 26.2MP Full-frame CMOS Sensor, has DIGIC 7 Image Processor and is dust and water-resistant. Canon says that it has several enhancements over its predecessor, but it still has maximum 1080p video recording.

Amazon is planning to launch its Echo speaker with Alexa voice assistant in India by the end of this year, according to a new report from ET. Citing two people aware of the development, the report further stated that it has already begun testing its products through select company executives and analysts. Earlier in February, a separate report had said that Amazon is “putting together content and localising the service”.

Alcatel has announced Idol 5S, A30 Plus and A50 smartphones in the U.S. The Idol 5S is a mid-range phone with a 5.2-inch 1080p screen, is powered by an Octa-Core Snapdragon 625 Mobile Platform and runs on Android 7.1 (Nougat). Both the A30 Plus and A50 are powered by MediaTek SoCs, run Android 7.0 (Nougat) and come with a HD screen.
