Samsung reports record profits in Q3 2018, will launch foldable and 5G smartphones in 2019

Samsung has reported its earnings for Q3 2018, in which the company has made all-time high operating profit of 17.57 trillion won ($15.45 billion), up 20.9% YoY, as expected, for the July-September 2018 period. This due to strong sales of memory products and OLED panels. It reported revenue of 65.46 trillion won, up 5.49 from 62.05 trillion won last year. ZTE’s Nubia brand just announced the Nubia X, the company’s latest smartphone in China, as it had promised. It has a 6.26-inch FHD+ 19:9 aspect ratio display with minimal bezels, 93.6% screen-body ratio and no notch since it doesn’t have a front camera, and a secondary 5.1-inch HD+ AMOLED screen that blends into the glass body. It is patentend for eye protection with a separate mode. It has a 16-megapixel rear camera with AI scene recognition, dual-tone LED flash along with a secondary 24-megapixel camera.
