Lava Iris 470, the company’s new smartphone in the Iris series is now available from Indiatimes Shopping and eBay. It has a 4.5-inch (854 ×480 pixels) FWVGA IPS display, is powered by a 1.3 GHz dual-core processor and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). Samsung invests Rs. 517 crores for the expansion of Noida mobile phone plant

Samsung India today announced that it has invested INR. 517 crores for the expansion of the Noida plant under the UP Mega Policy. The plan was inaugurated by Akhilesh Yadav, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh in Lucknow today. Samsung’s latest Z1 Tizen smartphone will also be manufactured at the Noida facility with most of the phone’s software being developed at the Noida Research Centre, it said. It temporarily discontinued the smartphone in August, but it brought back the smartphone during Diwali in limited quantities for those who tried to buy the smartphone and failed earlier. Google launched the Chromecast dongle in India exclusively on Snapdeal for Rs. 2,999 as part of its annual Great Online Shopping Festival. Now the Chromecast is available from Google Play Store. Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G went on sale in India last month for Rs. 9.999. We brought you the battery test results of the smartphone recently, here are the benchmarks. It is powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 400 (MSM8228) processor clocked at 1.59 GHz per core and has Adreno 305 GPU, similar to the Redmi 1S. It has a 5.5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD IPS display, 2GB RAM and runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat) with MIUI v5 on top. Check out the synthetic benchmark scores below.

Micromax’s YU has announced that it sold 15,000 units of Yureka smartphones in just 4 seconds in its second flash sale on Amazon.in. In the first sale 10,000 units sold out in 3 seconds. The website did not crash after the sale opened, like the first sale. Some managed to order the smartphone, but most users couldn’t get the smartphone and were added to the waitlist, which didn’t open up. YotaPhone with dual displays was launched in India on Flipkart back in October at a price tag of Rs. 23,499. It has got a huge price cut to Rs. 17,999 in one month after the release. Now the smartphone has received price cut of Rs. 5,000 and is available for Rs. 12,999 from Flipkart. The YotaPhone has a 4.3-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) LCD multi-touch main screen and a 4.3-inch (360×640 pixels) E-Ink rear screen.
