Micromax has launched two new Android Oreo (Go Edition) smartphones – Bharat 4 Diwali Edition and Bharat 5 Infinity Edition. Both these come with flash support for both the front and rear cameras and 5-inch screen, however the Bharat 5 Infinity Edition comes with a 18:9 aspect ratio display, fingerprint sensor on the back and packs a huge 5000mAh battery so that you can charge other devices easily. The company did not reveal display resolution or the SoC of the phones.
Panasonic today launched P85 NXT, the company’s latest smartphone in the ‘P Series’, a year after the launch of P85. It has the same 5-inch HD display, 4000mAh battery and comes with 4G VoLTE support, but this runs on Android 7.1.2 (Nougat). It has an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front camera, both with LED flash. Asus has launched the VivoBook S15 (S530) and S14 (S430) which are Windows 10 notebooks. The VivoBook S15 and VivoBook S14 weigh only 1.8kg and 1.4kg respectively and are just 18mm thin. The laptops come with ErgoLift hinge that recreates the feel of a desktop keyboard and offers a more comfortable typing experience. Huawei introduced EMUI 9.0 based on Android 9.0 (Pie) at the IFA 2018 last month. Earlier this month the company said that EMUI 9.0 will bring local language support, local calendar, deeper integration of Paytm, and more for India users. It also said that EMUI 9.0 will rolling out in beta for Huawei Mate 10, Mate 10 Pro, P20, P20 Pro, Honor 10, Honor View 10, and Honor Play soon. Xiaomi launched the Mi A2 Android One smartphone in India in 4GB RAM with 64GB RAM version back in August. It also launched the Red Edition last month. At the launch the company said that it will launch the 6GB RAM with 128GB storage version soon. After over three months, the company has launched the top-end version of the phone in the country. It doesn’t have any other changes other than RAM and storage.

Nokia has announced that its manufacturing unit in Chennai in South India has started manufacturing 5G New Radio (NR) based on the 3GPP 5G New Radio Release 15 standard. The Chennai plant is one of the largest telecom equipment manufacturing plant in the country. It has recently reached 4 million unit annual production milestone of 2G, 3G and 4G units. These have 6.19-inch HD+ notch display, powered by MediaTek Helio P22 SoC, comes with 13-megapixel rear camera along with a secondary 2-megapixel camera with AI features, 8-megapixel front camera with AI beautify, LED flash and face unlock. Google has quietly launched its third-generation Chromecast, after it was introduced at the Pixel event earlier this month. It still has a circular design with built-in HDMI cable and it comes with Wi-Fi 802.11ac (2.4GHz/5Ghz) support, however the Wi-Fi reception has been improved with maximum antenna gain of 4dBi compared to Chromecast 2’s 2.1dBi gain, which is about 50% improvement.
