Realme smartphones to get VoWiFi starting this month, New realme phone for India launching at MWC 2020


Today, in the 14the episode of #AskMadhav, the company’s CEO, Madhav Sheth has confirmed that realme smartphones will get VoWiFi or Wi-Fi Calling support via update starting from this month. realme X2 Pro will be the first phone to get the update next week. Other phones will get the update in February and March.

When asked about the launch of realme X50 5G smartphone, realme CEO said that the company will launch a bigger and better smartphone for India at the MWC 2020 next month. This could be the RMX2071 with Snapdragon 865 that surfaced in AnTuTu benchmarks earlier today. It is rumored to be called the realme X50 Pro. The company already said that it will launch 5G smartphones with Qualcomm Snapdragon 5G SoC in 2020 in India.

He also confirmed that the realme Fitness band will launch next month, and said that the latest realme 5i smartphone will get realme UI and Android 10 update in May this year, along with the realme 5 and 5s. He also said that the company needs more testing so its flagship realme X2 Pro is getting realme UI only in March, but he said that the company is considering users’ feedback and will change the update policy soon. So there are chances some devices might get the update early.

He also confirmed that phones that are launching in 2020 will get monthly Android security updates for first 6 months of launch, every 2 months from 7th month till the 24th month or till the end of 2 years of the phone launch.

realme Buds Air Yellow and Black color versions will be launched in February. The earbuds will get an update before the end of March to fix background noise when making calling. The CEO also confirmed that realme 3 Pro will not get realtime bokeh in video or Dolby Atmos features.
