The newly launched Samsung REX series of smart feature phones are Samsung’s new entries to the entry level smartphone market. With players like Micromax and Karbonn encroaching the feature phone territory with Android based models, the market is quite wide open. Nokia initially responded with their Asha series of device, and now it’s Samsung’s turn, with their REX 60, 70, 80 and 90. The REX 70 is a 3 inch device with smart Dual SIM functionality, and after we took a photo gallery, here is a hands on video of the Samsung REX 70

Samsung REX 60 hands on

Samsung had launched their new REX series of smart feature phones recently at a press conference in New Delhi here, in India. This is a global launch and the REX series of devices have been designed at the Samsung R&D center in Delhi. Four devices were launched today, as a part of the new REX series, and they are the REX 60, REX 70, REX 80 and the REX 90. We had posted a photo gallery of the REX 60 a while ago, and here is the hands on of the same, with a short video below –

Micromax A35 Bolt with 1 GHz processor, Flash Transfer launched for Rs. 4250

Micromax has launched the A35 Bolt, the first Android smartphone in the new Bolt series. It has a 4.0-inch (480 x 800 Pixels) capacitive touch screen display. It is powered by a 1 GHz processor and runs on Android 2.3 (Gingerbread). It comes with a new Flash Transfer app to swipe ‘n’ share images, videos, songs, files and applications with just a swipe. Users can drag content across the screen or simply shake and share seamlessly between Android devices over WiFi. Samsung launched the Rex series of feature phones in India few hours back. We got some hands-on time with the REX 60, the most affordable phone in the series. Samsung REX series of feature phones launched in India, priced between Rs. 4280 and Rs. 6490

Samsung has launched Rex, a new series of dual SIM feature phones in India. These java-based phones include, REX 60, REX 70, REX 80 and REX 90. Samsung is calling these Smart features phones. These phones are developed in India and it would be launched in several growing markets globally starting from India. These phones have TouchWiz interface with 8 homescreens Bluetooth and and some of these also have WiFi support. Micromax A116 Canvas HD gets priced at Rs. 13990

Micromax has announced that the A116 Canvas HD would be priced at Rs. 13990. It would go on sale tomorrow from the official site as they announced last week. Micromax unveiled the A116 Canvas HD with a 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD IPS display and a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor last month.The phone runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) and packs a 8MP rear camera with LED Flash and a 2MP front-facing camera. MTV Volt with 6-inch display, Android 4.1 launched for Rs. 12999

MTV has partnered with SWIPE Telecom to launched a co-branded phablet, the MTV Volt in India. It has a 6-inch (854 x 480 pixels) capacitive touch screen display, powered by a dual-core 1 GHz processor and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). It has an inbuilt TV-player that offers on-the-go access to MTV and FM Radio with FM Transmitter. This would compete with Byond Phablet PIII and the Karbonn A30 that were launched back in December. The Phablet PIII that was launched back in December had a 6-inch FWVGA display, but the Phablet PII comes with a 5.7-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD 5-point multi touch capacitive screen IPS display. The Micromax A27 Ninja that surfaced on the official site few days back is now on sale from online retailer Saholic. It has a 3.5-inch (480 x 320 pixels) capacitive touch screen display, powered by a 1 GHz processor and runs on Android 2.3 (Gingerbread). It has a unique Swipe ‘n’ Share feature that lets you share apps, games, photos, videos, songs & more with other Android devices with just a swipe. It has a 0.3 MP (VGA) camera at the back, but this phone does come with 3G support similar to the Micromax A65 Smarty 4.3 that went on sale last month. Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 311 now available for Rs. 13900


Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 311, , Wi-Fi variant of the Galaxy Tab 2 310 is finally on sale from the official Samsung eStore. The pre-bookings for the tablet started last month. The 3G variant, Galaxy Tab 2 310 was announced back in February 2012, and launched in India in May. Other than the 3G support voice calling, other features are similar to the Tab 2 310 including a 7-inch (1024×600) PLS TFT LCD display, 1GHz dual-core processor, 3MP fixed focus rear-facing camera and VGA front-facing camera. Sony Xperia Z and ZL coming soon to India

The Sony Xperia Z and Xperia ZL were introduced at the Consumer electronics show 2013 at Las Vegas recently. With both of them sporting a 5 inch 1080p screen and a powerful Qualcomm APQ8064 processor, they generated quite a lot of buzz at the trade show. It was announced that the global roll out will be started soon, and the above image is the first clue that both the Xperia Z and ZL are landing in the Indian markets soon. As you can see above, straight from the horse’s mouth, the Sony Xperia Z and Xperia ZL are supposedly “coming soon” to India.
