Samsung Galaxy S5 LTE (SM-G900I) with Snapdragon 801 might launch in India soon

Samsung plans to launch the LTE variant of the Galaxy S5 (SM-G900I) in India soon, according to a report from Manish Khatri from Mahesh Telecom. The 3G variants of the Samsung Galaxy S5 (SM-G900H) that was launched in India back in April is powered by a Octa-Core Exynos 5422 SoC with Intel XMM6360 for 3G HSPA+ ( up to 42 Mbps) connectivity. The LTE (SM-G900I) variant will be powered by a 2.5 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801. Since all the flagship smartphones starting from the Galaxy S3 were launched only in 3G variants with Exynos chip, this would be the company’s first flagship smartphone with Snapdragon chip.

Spice retail launched the Spice Smart Pulse M-9010, a smartwatch with dual SIM support and voice calling capabilities, priced at just Rs. 3,999 (MOP). Other than voice calling and messaging, it has a 1.5-inch QVGA touchscreen, audio and video player, microSD expansion slot and even a VGA camera with LED flash. It has menu, home and back buttons that are usually seen on Android devices, but this runs on proprietary Java-based OS. Check out the unboxing below.

BlackBerry launched the BlackBerry Z3 in India recently. It is the company’s first smartphone as the result of its 5-year Foxconn partnership. After the BlackBerry Z10 and the Z30, this is the third full touch BlackBerry 10 smartphone. The BlackBerry Z10 that was launched for Rs. 43490 in India last year got a price cut to Rs. 17,990 earlier this year, which made more people try out the BlackBerry 10 platform. 40,000 units of Asus Zenfone smartphones sold in four days in India

Asus recently launched its budget friendly range of Zenfone handsets in India. Today, the company has announced that 40,000 units of the smartphones have already been sold within 4 days of the debut in Indian market. Asus launched the Zenfone 4 starting at Rs 5,999, Zenfone 5 starting at Rs 9,999 and Zenfone 6 at Rs. 16,999. The Zenfone series is available online only on Flipkart and through Asus’s authorized channels since its launch in India on July 9th.

Micromax teams up with Vodafone to offer 2GB of free data with Canvas Knight

Micromax has partnered with Vodafone India to launch Canvas Knight with 2GB of free data for customers not active on a data pack. The pack would be activated in 48 hours on first Vodafone SIM inserted in the Canvas Knight before October 31, 2014. This offer would be extended to a wider portfolio of Micromax devices soon, says the company. Micromax started selling Canvas Knight A350 with Android 4.4 (KitKat) since last month. Aircel launches 4G LTE services in Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Bihar and Odisha

Aircel today launched its 4G services in India finally. It is available across four circles – Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Bihar and Odisha. Aircel becomes the second operator in India to offer 4G services after Airtel that already has 4G service in several cities. Reliance Jio recently announced that it would offer 4G services in 2015.
