Samsung has finally announced the Galaxy S4 Active the company’s latest durable Galaxy smartphone. It has a 5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) full HD TFT LCD display and not a Super AMOLED display as rumored. It is powered by a 1.9 GHz quad-core processor and runs on Android 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean). It has IP67 rating for Dust and Water Resistance with fully sealed design keeps dust particles out and protects against water damage for up to 30 minutes of submergence. The Glove Touch lets you access the screen even with gloves and the phone comes with hardware buttons for menu, home and back similar to the Samsung Galaxy XCover phones. Lenovo A390 entry level Android ICS device with dual core 1 GHz processor launched for Rs. 8689

The flood gates are open, and Lenovo has launched a total of six smartphones in India, targeting all kinds of price points and markets. Amongst the ones launched, the Lenovo A390 is a entry level Android ICS 4.0.4 phone that comes at a price of Rs. 8,689. Sporting a 4 inch WVGA display and powered by a 1 GHz MTK6577 dual core processor, the phone aims to satisfy new smartphone buyers as well as budget minded smartphone buyers. It has 512 MB of RAM with 4 GB of internal storage and claims to pack a decent 5 megapixel camera unit, without a LED flash.

Lenovo has launched the P780, successor of the P770 we reviewed recently. The Lenovo P770 had a 3500 mAh battery, this one has a 4000 mAh battery. Other features have also been upgraded. The P780 has a 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) capactive touch screen IPS display with 178 degrees viewing angle, powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core MediaTek 6589 processor and runs on Android 4.2.1 (Jelly Bean) with Lenovo’s custom UI on top. It has a 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 0.3-megapixel (VGA) front-facing camera. It comes with dual SIM support similar to the P770 and is just 9.9mm thick. Lenovo A706 launched in India, 4.5 inch FWGA display, Quad Core processor and 2000 mAH battery for Rs. 15949

Lenovo has launched a total of six smartphones today, at an event in New Delhi, India. Amongst the six, the Lenovo A706 is a mid range model with modest specs and a equally modest price. With a 4.5 inch FWGA 854×480 display, the A706 might be lacking when directly compared with the 5 inch 720p displays in competing phones of the same price range, but it makes up for it in having an IPS display. The device is powered by a 1GHz quad core processor, and if our assumptions are true, it is a slightly underclocked version of the Snapdragon 200 MSM8225Q with Adreno 203 graphics. Priced at Rs. 15,949, this is Lenovo’s play at the mid range.

Lenovo K900 with 2 GHz dual-core Intel Atom Z2580 processor launched in India for Rs. 32999

Lenovo has finally launched the K900, the first Intel Clover Trail+ powered smartphone in India. It was unveiled at the CES 2013 earlier this year and was expected to launch in India last month. It has a 5.5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD IPS display with at 419 PPI pixel density and Gorilla Glass 2 protection, powered by a  2 GHz dual-core Intel Atom Z2580 processor with Intel Hyper-Threading technology to boost performance efficiency and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). It has a 13-megapixel Sony Exmor BSI sensor, LED Flash and F1.8 focal length lens for wide aperture. The 2-megapixel front-facing camera has 88 degree viewing angle. HTC Desire XDS, dual SIM variant of the HTC Desire X is now available in India from online retailer Saholic. The Desire XDS was announced in China last year as T329W. Other than the dual SIM support with dual standby, other features are similar to the Desire X that was launched in India last October, including a  4.0-inch (800 x 480 pixels) capacitive touch screen display,  1 GHz Dual-core processor and Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). It has a 5MP auto focus rear camera with LED Flash. In packs a 1650 mAh battery and has built-in Beats Audio support. The HTC Desire U dual SIM smartphone went on sale in India online yesterday. Asus Padfone Infinity Unboxing

Asus announced the PadFone infinity which is the 3rd generation PadFone at MWC 2013 earlier this year in Barcelona. Now the handset has gone on sale in some markets such as Asus’s home market Taiwan. As you might be aware I am right now in Taipei for Computex 2013 and managed to get my hands on the Padfone Infinity which is currently on sale here for around 20990 Taiwanese dollars or Rs.40000 approx. Check out the unboxing video below featuring the HTC One and PadFone 2 as well. We managed to only get the phone part of the Padfone , the tablet part or the Padfone Station was not available.

Sony Xperia M and M dual with 4-inch display, 1 GHz dual-core processor, Android 4.2 announced

Sony has announced the Xperia M and M dual the company’s new mid-range Android smartphones. These phones have a 4.0-inch (800 x 480 pixels) capacitive touch screen display, powered by a 1GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8227 processor with Adreno 305 GPU.  Xperia M dual comes with Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean), while the Xperia M would launch on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) and is upgradable to Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). It has a 5-megapixel rear camera with LED Flash and 720p HD video recording and a 0.3-megapixel (VGA) front-facing camera. These phones are based on OmniBalance design similar to the Xperia Z, have LED illuminations for notification and NFC connectivity for one-touch functions. The Xperia M dual comes with dual SIM support with dual Standby. HTC One with stock Android launching on June 26th in USA, priced at $599

HTC has finally confirmed the rumors about the HTC One running stock Android. The company just announced on its official blog that a HTC One with Nexus User Experience will be going on sale soon in the US market first. They would continue to sell the developer version and unlocked version directly to users. The HTC One with stock Android will be going on sale on Google’s Play store starting from June 26th but sadly only in the US. The handset has been priced at $599 which is lower than the price of the Galaxy S4 running stock Android which will also be going on sale on the same day for $649.
