We take a look at the hardware ,  UI and other interesting aspects of the latest Blackberry device. This handset is powered by a 1.2 GHz processor and runs on OS7. Nokia Deep Dive: Nokia E6 hands on pictures!

I have been invited to a nice little event here from Nokia Austria, dubbed “Nokia Deep Dive”. The whole event was made to show a handful of bloggers and developers here in Austria, the newly introduced Symbian Anna and the 2 new devices that will come with it out of the box, the Nokia E6 and X7.

Starting off with the Nokia E6, i can not tell you how much i like this device. Being a long time E71/E72 fan, i always had a weak spot and was always hoping for a worthy replacement. And while some of you might disagree because of the camera, I’m fine with what i get. I’m not a fan of Nokia’s recent idea of full focus cameras either, but usability still is No.1 for me. My hopes were high for a successor, that gets rid of the dusty old Symbian S60 3rd edition, and Nokia delivered. They even went on and replaced the old QVGA screens with a shiny new capacitive, multitouch touchscreen with a brand new VGA resolution. This results in a 326ppi, in other words, the screen is extremely sharp.

More on the Device and Symbian Anna in an upcoming post, meanwhile enjoy the pictures I took at the event, showing you all the sweet spots of the Nokia E6! As usual, all those pictures can be found in full resolution over at flickr, in my Nokia E6 picture set!

Say Hello to the Nokia E6!

Nokia X5-01 Review

Symbian is here to stay, at least for the next couple of years. So, we are here with the Nokia X5-01 review. This device was launched at CommunicAsia last June and hit Indian shores late last year.At the first look, I didn’t liked the squarish design of this device and found it a bit girly. Nokia X5-01 is an X-series phone, known for its music features. As usual, this handset comes with a special key for the music player, however the previous/rewind and next/forward keys were missing from this handset. This handset comes with a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, which helps you to type fast and stay connected with your friends on the go. Nokia X5-01 runs on the Symbian S60v3 operating system and it comes with some great features such as a 5 megapixel camera with LED flash, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g, 3G connectivity and more. Is this handset worth buying? Check out our exclusive review to learn more.

Hardware Tour Of The Nokia E7: A True Masterpiece

Very few devices have seriously impressed me in terms of build quality these past years. As mobile phones got larger and more sophisticated, many manufacturers moved to cheaper materials to balance the cost of the phone, and many other manufacturers simply failed to make a solid phone because of the bigger touchscreens that introduced more fragility to designs. For the past months, I’ve looked back at my Nokia E71 and wondered: will we ever see the same grade of heavy duty build with the modern industry requirements?

Thankfully, Nokia, in a time when everyone is questioning their ability to compete, whipped out the big guns and delivered two premium devices: the Nokia N8 and now the Nokia E7. With everyone focused on Symbian’s shortcomings, Nokia keeps proving that they know how to do phones: phones that work well as phones, that don’t creak squeak or rattle, phones that feel fantastic in your hands, phones you are tempted to caress and stare lovingly at for hours, phones that stand true to the legendary saying about Nokias “throw a Nokia at a wall and it’ll come back in your hand, fully working”. The E7 is that and more. Join me for a tour of the E7 in pictures.

Around The HTC Desire Z In 25 Photos

About a month ago, I decided to take the plunge for a new Android device. My choice boiled down between the HTC Desire Z and the Motorola Milestone 2 that we reviewed earlier, as I want or more accurately need, a physical QWERTY keyboard on my phone. I eventually went for the Desire Z as the Milestone 2 wasn’t yet available in Lebanon, and I have always wanted to own an HTC device.

Here is a hardware tour gallery of my HTC Desire Z’s Super-LCD touchscreen, metallic clad and Qwerty goodness.
