Nokia Lumia 720 launched in India, available mid-April

Nokia has launched the Lumia 720 in India at an event in Delhi. The Lumia 720 was unveiled at the MWC 2013 last month along with the Lumia 520. It has a 4.3-inch  (800 x 480 pixels) ClearBlack display, powered by a 1 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 MSM8227 processor and runs on the latest Windows Phone 8 OS. It has a 6.7-megapixel auto focus camera at the back with LED Flash, Carl Zeiss optics and a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera.  It is 9 mm thick and weighs 129 grams. Microsoft has updated the Skype app for Windows Phone 8 to version 2.4 that brings several new features including support for 720p HD video calls on high-end devices. The app intelligently determines the best quality based on the device and the connection. This update also brings landscape mode for video calls, option to switch between either cameras during a call and lots more. The first preview version of Skype for Windows Phone 8 was released back in November last year. Gaana Music app now available for Windows Phone devices

Times Internet has finally launched the Gaana Music app for Windows Phone devices including the Windows Phone 8. Both the Gaana and Microsoft teams have been working closely to release the Windows Phone app, and it was finally launched at the TechEd in Bangalore. The Gaana Music app for Android, iPhone, BlackBerry and Java phones were released earlier this year. The Nokia Lumia 520 which got announced at MWC 2013 might be coming soon to India. According to a store listing on Nokia India’s shop , the Lumia 520 is listed as coming soon.The Lumia 520 is expected to be launched at a very competitive price as it is dubbed as an affordable Windows Phone.It packs a 4 inch display and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor.It runs on Windows Phone 8.

Photosynth arrives for Windows Phone 8 with a lens app

Photosynth, the 360 degree(horizontal and vertical) photo stitching panorama app that has been there on Windows Phone for quite a while, has finally received an update for Windows Phone 8, with a nice lens app as an addition. Microsoft has been pushing the Photosynth service for a long time with its nice photo stitching capabilities, that are very similar to what you can find in the Android 4.2 camera’s photo sphere application. The Windows Phone 7 version has been there for the Mango devices and above since May 2012 and it is about time that it has been updated for Windows Phone 8, that too with a lens app for the camera.

Twitter for Windows Phone updated with new design and features

Twitter has finally updated the Twitter app for Windows Phone. The Twitter for Windows Phone v2.0 update brings a new design with Home, Connect, Discover and Me tabs that was released for Twitter for Android and iOS back in December 2011. Nokia Lumia 720 and Lumia 520 press images surface

Thanks to evleaks, press renders for the both the Nokia Lumia 720 and Lumia 520 are now out. These phones would be the successors of the Lumia 710 and the Lumia 510 respectively. Nokia Lumia 920 vs LG Optimus G

The Nokia Lumia 920 had its fair share of comparisons made when it won our Battle of the Flagships 2012 but it wasn’t fair to leave it just at that, and hence we are doing the Lumia 920 vs the flagships series. Microsoft Research releases Blink burst image lens app for Windows Phone 8 devices

Microsoft Research has released Blink for Windows Phone 8 device that would let you capture a burst of images. It uses Advanced image stabilization technology from Microsoft Research removes camera shake and lets you focus on the important parts of the scene. Since this is a camera lens app just like the Bing Vision and the recently updated Bing Translator, you can easily launch it quickly when you launch the camera. Nokia Lumia Windows Phone 7.8 update starts rolling out

Nokia has started rolling out the Windows Phone 7.8 devices for Lumia smartphones running on Windows Phone 7.5, such as Nokia Lumia 510, 610, 710, 800 and 900 as they promised. Nokia released the Lumia 505 with Windows Phone 7.8 last month for Mexico and also started shipping the Lumia 510 with WP 7.8. Yellow Nokia Lumia 920 Photo Gallery

Yellow is awesome. Why am I saying that? Well, because my Nokia Lumia 920 looks absolutely great in yellow! When I decided to actually buy one, my color choices became clear quite easily: red or yellow. There could only be those two. Black and white are just so outdated. Anyways, after I’ve received my shiny new, yellow 920, and some initial problems were sorted out (I’ve received a faulty device, which got replaced), it was my turn to produce a nice photo gallery of Nokia’s latest and greatest!
