Logitech Revue Google TV 3.1 Honeycomb update rolling out now , brings Android Market

Yes that’s Android market running on the TV. The big Google TV Android 3.1 update is finally rolling out to Logitech Revue units via an OTA update. The Revue retails for $99 and there was some confusion if Google and Logitech will release an update for this device. Now the update is finally rolling out including the Revue unit in the FoneArena Labs. Vodafone launches SMART Android Phone at Rs.4995 !

Vodafone Smart which has been available in India for quite some time now got officially unveiled by Vodafone in India today. Guess the price ? It is priced at just Rs.4995 or under $100 for a 3G Android Phone, not bad at all. It sports a 2.8 inch capacitive display and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon S1 processor.It packs a 2 megapixel camera which is capable of video recording. The phone supports video playback( MP4/3GP ) and supports microSD cards up to 32GB and a 2GB card comes in the box. It also support Stereo FM Radio and MP3 playback. Samsung Omnia W now available for pre-order in India

Samsung Omnia W is now available for pre-order in India. It is now available for pre-order from online retailer, Flipkart. It is 10.9mm thick and weighs 115.3g and has 3.7 (800 x 480 pixels) inch Super AMOLED display. Samsung announced the phone in September and it was unveiled in India in October. Beetel Magiq Glide Android Tablet launched in India for Rs. 11999

Beetel has launched their new Android Tablet, Magiq Glide in India. This 3G Tablet runs on Android 2.2 Froyo and has 7 inch TFT capacitive touchscreen display and powered by a 1 GHz processor. There is no major change in this tablet other than the capacitive touch screen display compared to the Beetel Magiq tablet that was launched in August. This would compete with the Reliance 3G Tab which has similar features.

Micromax has launched A75, another phone in the Superfone range after their high-end phone Micromax A85 that was launched last month. Aircel iPhone 4S Zero Rental Plans

Aircel now offers zero rental plans for the 16GB, 32GB and 64GB iPhone 4S. This would offer Rs 18,000 worth free usage on 3G and Rs 15,000 worth free usage on 2G for 1 year. The free usage include, free voice calling, 3G / 2G data , Wi-Fi data and SMS. They announced the price for the iPhone 4S on 18th November and it went on sale on 25th November. What’s on my Nokia Lumia 800 Windows Phone ?

I have been using Windows Phone for roughly 6 months now and yes, I really like it. WP, although not perfect, has some features that really got me. There is room for improvement, and I’m perfectly happy in going that route, watching it grow and evolute. After the rather mediocre HTC Trophy I’m now using the Nokia Lumia 800, which simply is the best Windows Phone out there, period.

One of the discussion points I have always faced, has been “but there are no apps on Windows Phone”. Well, i call it nonsense here. The Windows Phone Marketplace is constantly growing, and is getting filled with not only apps from the known brands, but also quality 3rd party applications, with some really cool ideas. Since people are still learning and are getting into Windows Phone since Nokia has joined the party, I thought it’d be a nice idea to put all my currently installed apps together, and wrap them up into a nice post. Asus Transformer Prime now up for pre-order in UK, shipping in January

Asus Transformer Prime is now available for pre-order from UK’s online retail store, Clove UK. There are two variants, one with 32GB internal storage and a keyboard included, and one with 64GB memory and no keyboard included. Asus announced the tablet last month and it got rooted earlier this month after few days it was made available in the US. 5 N9 “Novelties” Nokia Should Keep, And 2 It Should Kill

Over the past year, a lot has been said in regards to the Nokia N9 and Meego’s future, be it in Nokia’s portfolio or with other manufacturers. We all don’t really know what the future holds, but after a couple of weeks with the N9, a lot of joy and a lot of sorrow using it, there are some Nokia N9 ideas that I think are worth having in other devices _ Meego, Windows Phone, S40, Symbian, or whatever the future Nokia devices will run _ and some others that I believe should be locked away in a drawer for all eternity. I’ll take the liberty of loosely calling these ideas “novelties” even though some of them aren’t exactly new to Nokia or the mobile industry as whole, but these have mostly been made more prominent with the N9.

Nokia Lumia 800 Gorilla Glass Test: Oh no, he did it again!

Remember when my good friend Stefanos Kofopoulos tortured the screen of the Nokia N8 in his famous video about a year ago? Well, Stefanos is at it again and sent over this video, where he puts the Gorilla Glass of Nokia’s first Windows Phone, the Lumia 800 through it’s paces. This video, posted over at his pestaola.gr blog is not for the faint hearted though, Stefanos does not hold back, scratching all over the display with keys, coins and even a Swiss Army knife! I don’t know about you, but those scratching sounds just made me cringe. Horrible stuff. What happens to the display you ask? Twitter for Android has been updated to version 3.0 and the Twitter for iPhone gets updated to version 4.0 that brings new design and new tabs such as Home tab to view all the tweets, Connect tab to view your interactions and mentions, Discover tab to search for tweets, view stories and trends and Me tab to view your tweets, followers, following, lists, DMs and saved searches. Hands on with new Twitter for iPhone

As part of a massive redesign effort , Twitter today unveiled new apps for iOS , Android alongside an improved web interface. The version 4.0 update for the iPhone is a huge change with a slick design, soothing graphics, more features and a whole lot of performance improvements. It has its own pros and cons. We’ll be doing a complete walk through the new app whilst comparing it with the previous (version 3.3.5) release. Unless mentioned , all images on the right are from Twitter for iOS version 4 and those on the left are from the older release.

OnLive comes to Android and iOS

Cloud gaming solution , OnLive , has finally made its way to Android and iOS. The applications for the two mobile operating systems will allow users to play their favorite console or PC game on their smartphones.

Initial reports indicate that the image quality is superior on the iOS version of the application. OnLive works by compressing and streaming the video component of the game by performing all the heavy crunching on a server in the cloud. This allows average users to play all the latest games without worrying about hardware updates. The mobile apps let users access the same games on the move and play them.

Flipboard competitor Google Currents launched on iOS and Android

Currents is the latest application out of Google for Android devices, iPads and iPhones that lets you explore online magazines and other content with the swipe of a finger.

Instagram coming soon to an Android device near you !

The extremely popular photo sharing iOS app , Instagram is finally coming to Android. In an interview with CNET , CEO Kevin Systrom mentioned that two engineers were already working on an Android port of the application.

Instagram already enjoys over 14million users on the iOS platform ! The application lets users apply filters on captured images giving them a uniquely retro look.
