Motorola announces DROID XYBOARD 8.2 and 10.1 4G LTE tablets, coming to Verizon this month

Motorola and Verizon Wireless has announced 2 new DROID XYBOARD tablets. They have also announced DROID RAZR in white color. Both these tablets support Verizon’s 4G LTE network and is powered by dual-core 1.2 GHz processors and runs on Android 3.2 Honeycomb (upgradable to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich).It comes with scratch-resistant corning gorilla glass displays with water-repellent nanoparticles makes them resistant to accidental spills and splashes, 1 GB of RAM, MotoCast for remote access to non DRM-protected music, pictures, videos and documents stored on work or home computers. Android Market clocks 10 billion app downloads, offers premium apps at $0.10

Google has announced that Android market has exceeded 10 billion app downloads. They have also posted a graph that shows the Android Market Growth. The Android Market saw 1 billion downloads in July 2010 and reached 6 billion in a year in July 2011. To celebrate this milestone they offer premium apps every day for the next 10 days at $0.10 each.

HTC has launched the HTC Rhyme in India. It is powered by 1GHz Qualcomm MSM8255 processor and runs on Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) OS with HTC Sense UI and comes in 3 distinctive colors. Google Maps for Android v6.0 update brings indoor Maps

Google Maps for Android has been updated to version 6.0 that brings indoor Maps that lets you determine where you are, what floor you’re on, and where to go indoors and more. It also includes detailed floor plans that automatically appear when you’re viewing the map and zoomed-in on a building where indoor map data is available. It also has a new drop-down menu for the top toolbar for easy switching between common features and updated home screen for places. Lenovo LePad S2005 tabletphone, S2007 and S2010 tablets launched in China

Lenovo has launched a 5-inch LePad S2005 tabletphone and 2 tablets LePad S2007 and LePad S2010 featuring 7-inch and 10.1-inch displays. The LePad S2005 runs on Android 2.3.5 and boasts Qualcomm dual-core 1.2GHz CPU and would launch in other countries as IdeaTab. Both the LePad S2007 and LePad S2010 would feature Qualcomm dual-core 1.5GHz CPU and run on Android 3.2 (Honeycomb), 1GB RAM and 1,280 x 800 IPS display. LG Optimus Link Dual SIM Android Phone now shipping in Russia

LG announced the LG Optimus Pro and Optimus Net this July. They have also announced that the LG Optimus Net would come with Dual SIM and NFC support (based on the carriers) in 30 European Markets by Summer. Now LG has announced on their LG Russia’s Facebook page that the LG Optimus Link which is the European version of the LG Optimus Net with Dual SIM has started shipping in Russia. LG Nitro HD with 720p HD Display and 4G LTE gets Priced at $249.99 for AT&T USA

LG announced the Optimus LTE in Korea last month  which boasts of a 720p HD IPS Display and at that point LG did not plan to release the device in other markets. Looks like that has changed as LG launched the Optimus LTE in Canada earlier this month and now AT&T has announced that it is going to launch the the LG Nitro HD which seems like the carrier’s variant of the Optimus LTE. The device packs a True HD AH-IPS (High Definition Advanced High Performance In-Plane Switching) 4.5 inch display with  329 pixels per inch. More details about the display technology here . LG confirms Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update for Optimus 2X, Optimus Black and Optimus 3D


The LG Optimus 2X, Optimus BlackOptimus 3D and the Optimus LTE would be the first LG devices that would get the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update confirms LG on their Facebook page. LG has just started rolling out Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) update for their Optimus 3D that brings lots of new camera features and for the Optimus 2x. They already confirmed the Gingerbread update for these devices last month for Europe on their Facebook page.
